2. Intro. Students will identify the story elements- the title, characters and the morals. Students will use context clues to gain meaning of unfamiliar words. Students will use adjectives to describe events and characters in a story. Students will retell the events in the story in sequence. This activity is for young students(1nd -2rd grade). This activity is done in a ESL sitting.
3. Purposes: Students will enhance listening skills during read aloud of the folk tale and make. How to make predictions about the story and what does the picture and the title tells/shows them. Students will learn about a famous folk tale and its morals. How does it incorporate? I would incorporate the activity in the lesson after I discuss the most famous folk tales. Or after discussing their favorite stories. I believe this activity would beneficial because… They will be more encouraged to read more stories. Being more interested. They would share their thoughts and ideas about the story with each other. Learning to collaborate.
5. The Rabbit and the Turtle Once upon a time there was a turtle and a rabbit. One day a rabbit came at the turtle and said, “Shall we run a race?”
6. The turtle said : “ I can’t run I’m too slow not like you” . However the rabbit made the turtle agree. The rabbit ran fast. The turtle went as his usual walk.
7. Rabbit ran fast and looked where’s the turtle. He thought “Turtle can’t run fast as I am…I can sleep a little and run again”. The rabbit fell a sleep. The turtle didn’t stop his walk.
8. The turtle reached to the end of the race before the rabbit. The rabbit awoke after the turtle passed the goal. And felt sad about his laziness. The End
