LABORATORY (MUSRL) IS
SITUATED AT THE DEPARTMENT
OF CHEMISTRY. AHMADU BELLO
UNIVERSITY ZARIA.

12. DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETER (DSC)
One of the latest addition to the Lab is the DSC. It is used to
determine the temperature and heat of transformation in both liquid
and solid materials: measures physical properties like compatibility,
purity, crystallization, heat capacity and evaporation. It also assesses
stability and the kinetic profile of materials and is useful for food ,
pharmaceutical and material sciences.

16. OLYMPUS BX 41 RESEARCH MICROSCOPE
This microscope allows for clearer, brighter, beautifully
contrasted images. It also has multiple condensers to allow for
an array of contrast techniques, including bright field, dark
field, differential interference contrast (DIC), polarization, and
phase contrast. It has a wide-range of applications and is
especially suited for clinical research.
