3. Case History:
• The patient has suffered from a failing
anterior crown for several years.
• The patient is a health professional who
works with the public.
• The patient would prefer a dental implant to
replace the damaged tooth if possible.
5. Esthetic Demands:
• High level of gingival (gum tissue) show
• Worn discolored lateral incisor
• Mismatched gingival (gum tissue) margins on
central incisors.
6. Anatomic Demands:
• Failing central incisor
• Loss of bone due to
failing crown
• Very close dental root
proximity
7. Solution:
• Staged
• Staged timing of extraction, grafting , and implant placement
• Use of plastic temporary implant crown to stabilize gum margin
• All ceramic crown treatment to restore shape and esthetic balance
to worn lateral incisor
9. • An immediate implant placement
was not possible due to anatomic
considerations.
• The surgical site was grafted,
temporized, and allowed to heal.
• Implant to be placed at ~6 months
healing time.
