2. Representation
 Representation is the use of signs that stand in
for and take the place of something else.

3. Characters: Will Smith from I Am
Legend & Stewart from Last Man
Standing.

4. Ways that the two are similar
 Both their Costumes are similar as they’re both
dressed casually. This is Hoodie/Jacket, jeans
and trainers, because they have no one to
impress and nothing to look forward to.
 They both have similar roles in the film. They both
are looking for life in a post apocalyptic world.
This shows that they have a similar roles in
society
 Both are set in an urban area, which represents
them as your normal, everyday person looking
round an area where everyone would be if they
were alive.

5. The differences between the two
characters:
 Although it’s not human, Will Smith in I Am
Legend has company in the form of a dog
whereas in our Opening sequence, Stewart is the
only person and animal alive.
 In I Am Legend, Will Smith has a enemy however
in our opening sequence, Stewart has no enemy.
Having a dog for a friend and no human contact
at all represent them as very lonely people who
are desperate for human contact.
 Also, Will has a gun in the movie, which is a
difference in appearance and props. It makes Will
Smith look more thug-like in the film whereas
Stewart looks more vulnerable.
