• Interviewed over 15 individuals to gather perspectives on the efficacy of UN peacekeeping forces in eastern Congo
• Collaborated with local colleagues to identify relevant research sources
• Worked with Congolese translators to ensure the validity of all documents in English, Kiswahili, and French
• Defended 80-page thesis on the root causes of the UN’s inability to protect civilians in eastern Congo from human rights
abuses
