Once upon a time there was just Katy,
Mommy, and Daddy

Mommy was having another baby!

10. Like if a weed grows in the garden, it needs
to come out so the garden can grow healthy

It is like an “boo-boo!” on the inside

12. This happened to Mommy’s breasts
She will need to take medicine to fix
the boo-boo

13. This is called cancer
It is like a spot the doctor will take out
and make Mommy better

14. It is no ones fault
No one wanted this to happen
and no one could do anything to stop it

15. It is not like a cold you can catch
No one else has cancer and you can not
get it from hugging or kissing

16. Momma will need to get special, very strong
medicine to make the cancer stop growing
This is called Chemotherapy
It is also called Chemo

17. The strong medicine will stop the cancer
from growing
It also stops Mommy’s hair from growing

18. Mommy needs to take naps to feel better

19. The chemo will take time to work
We don’t know how long
but love helps us wait!

Mommy’s hair will grow back
