We are not declared righteous because we are righteous. We are declared righteous because of what Jesus Christ has done for us. It's not that we have never sinned, rather it's because one that had no sinned died for us and covered our sins. Because of his work, God has declared us pure from sin. It is as if though we had never sinned. Download this and other PowerPoints at BibleGuy.org
2. We’ve been Declared Righteous!
• Not because we’re righteous.
• Not because we’re better than others.
• Not because we keep God’s laws.
• Not because we belong to a select group (Circumcision).
• We’ve been declared righteous because of the righteousness
of Jesus Christ.
We’ve been Justified!
It’s just as if we’ve never sinned!
AND, Therefore…….
3. Romans 5:1–11 (ESV)
5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him
we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which
we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not
only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that
suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces
character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not
put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
4. We Have Peace With God
5:1 Therefore, since we have been
justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
5. 2 Through him we have
also obtained access by
faith into this grace in
which we stand,
We Have Access to God
6. We can boast in a Confident Hope
and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
7. 3 Not only that, but we
rejoice in our sufferings,
We can boast in Hardships
8. We can boast in Hardships
knowing that
suffering produces
endurance,
9. We can boast in Hardships
4 and endurance produces character, and character
produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to
shame, because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been
given to us.
10.
11. Romans 5:6–11
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died
for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous
person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare
even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while
we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore,
we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall
we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while
we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death
of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall
we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in
God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have
now received reconciliation.
12. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ
died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a
righteous person—though perhaps for a good person
one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love
for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.
We Have the Love of God
13. 9 Since, therefore,
we have now been
justified by his
blood, much more
shall we be saved by
him from the wrath
of God.
We Have Assurance of Salvation from God’s
Judgment
14. We have an assurance of continued
friendship with God
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, now
that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
15. 11 More than
that, we also
rejoice in God
through our
Lord Jesus
Christ, through
whom we have
now received
reconciliation.
We Have a Friend to Boast About
16. Now that we are justified:
• We have Peace with God and will not face the judgment.
• We have the assurance of the love of God.
• We have access to God.
• We have the hope of sharing in the future glory of God.
• Because of the Hope we can rejoice in our present
hardships.
• We have the Holy Spirit living within us.
• We can rejoice in knowing that we have God as our
friend.
