Tijdens deze sessie maak je kennis met Incremental Grading, een integrale aanpak van beoordelen gebaseerd op verschillende praktijkvoorbeelden. De studenten zijn in deze aanpak de eigenaar van het proces en leren tegelijkertijd om hun eigen werk correct te beoordelen. De nadruk ligt daarbij op groei en verbetering en op een goed overzicht over de voortgang van het leerproces. Dit gaat middels feedback (gericht op het verleden) én feed forward (gericht op de toekomst). Verder laten we zien hoe je Incremental Grading via tooling goed ondersteunt. Zo kan de aanpak voor zowel studenten als docenten soepel worden toegepast en geïntegreerd in het onderwijsproces.

Freudenthal Institute Scientific and mathematical literacy for life www.freudenthalinstituut.nl Results/experiences (2) • After decline, 53% requested lower grade, 47% requested same grade (thus improved their work) • Full grade request approval grew during the second half of the course (might be an indication for improved self-assessment skills) • 4 x GO FOR GOLD (unnecessary improvements)

Freudenthal Institute Scientific and mathematical literacy for life www.freudenthalinstituut.nl First lessons learned • Asks for new mindset (for both students and teachers) • Gamification aspect works (and motivates) • Workload for teachers more distributed, peak at the end is “doable” • Self-assessment skills not bad, not sure if they have improved • Essential: • Good rubrics (and communication of them)! • THIS IS FEEDBACK • Timely review of Grading Requests • Technological support
