2. Introduction
• Adopting digital technologies
• Increase productivity and value creation –
organizations, government and society (Ebert and
Duarte, 2018)
• Important factors – actors, structure, practices,
values and beliefs (Kripmann, 2015)
• This may boost or may hinder the transformational
process (Hinings, Gegenhuber, Greenwood, 2018)
3. Research Gaps
The extant literature has divergent views on factors impacting the
Digital Transformation initiatives
DT efforts are major risk and 70% DT efforts fail (Bucy, Finlayson,
Kelly, Moye, 2016)
Unprecedented, fast and fundamental changes due to increased
diffusion of new technologies along with new challenges - need for
the study
4. Research agenda
1. Review the literature on digital
transformation from 1994 -2021
2. Consolidate the findings using the ADO
framework
3. Offer a understanding of DT and set the
agenda for future research
5. Objective
• To synthesize the divergent views on
factors influencing the success of digital
transformation in an organization
• To analyze the literature and identify gaps
from the perspective of antecedent,
decision and outcome
6. Methodology
Bibliometric Analysis
• Full record of citations, bibliographical information, abstract,
keywords and other information are documented
• Bibliometric analysis is to be done using VOSviewer - Keyword co-
occurrences and co-citations
ADO framework
• The study would examine the antecedents of digital
transformations (key factors), decisions taken in the digital
transformation initiatives and outcomes of such initiatives (Singh,
Paul, Dhir 2021)
7. • Initial search string resulted in 530 articles
• Indexed the journals with Abdc 2019 list of journals
– 260 articles were remaining
• Chose only A*, A and B rated journals – 208 articles
remained
• Finally shortlisted 108 articles based on their
relevancy – through reading their Abstract
8. Search Keywords
• Digital transformation
• Digital disruption
• Digital innovation
• Digitization
• Digitisation
• Digital change management

11. Further Plan
• Briefly study the selected journals to
understand the various ideas and
frameworks around digital transformation
• Creation of Antecedent – Decision –
Outcome (ADO) framework
• Also analyse the performed literature
survey for the research gaps and highlight
the same
• Set the direction for further research
