2. Genre - Horror
S The genre I would like to choose for my film opening is
horror. I chose this genre because there is plenty of
existing horror opening sequences that I can relate too
and also it can be interesting and fun to plan and film
because there is so much you can include. I have
researched some existing horror film openings so I can
see what they do that i can learn from.
3. SCREAM - 1996
S This scream film opening includes one main title at the
beginning. There is no other credits that explain who made the
film or anyone who is starring in it and this is unusual. In my
film opening I am going to go against this and still add the
credits because i think it essential for people to know. I like the
idea of when the 'scream' title comes on the screen there is a
sound of screaming. I will use little elements of this within my
opening because the smaller things signify a lot. I think the
whole idea of the phone call is good because it signifies how
anyone can get your number.
4. SAW
S This film opening is extremely different to any i have seen
in the past. This is because it is filming the floor with all
the blood on it as well as different pieces of harmful
equipment. Towards the end of the opening you begin to
see someones hand with a gun is as well as an old
television that eventually displays the title of the film
'Saw'. I think the font type though these titles is extremely
good because it is relevant to the horror genre.
5. JEEPERS CREEPERS
S I think this film opening is good because it doesn't have
that many titles but there is enough to give the people
who made the film credit. The font style suits the film
because it look like its a horror sort of font. The music in
the background also creates the horror affect. The fact
the girl says 'you just went past the stop sign' signifies
that someone bad will surely happen because of this.
