The students organized an awareness campaign about the harms of plastic usage in their town of Kurnool, India. They observed plastic clogging drains and causing flooding. Their campaign included: making cloth bags as alternatives, giving a presentation and rally at their school, singing an awareness song on the radio, distributing pamphlets, and encouraging others to use cloth bags. The principal noted the students' efforts have started to change behavior and reduce plastic use in the community with help from a local plastic ban.

2. ‘ TODAY’S BOON IS FUTURE’S BANE ’

3. FEEL A much needed change In our town Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh there is a severe problem of blockage of drains due to plastic covers causing great inconvenience to the people.

6. Why Awareness Rally? We finally decided to bring about an awareness programme in our school in particular and public in general.

9. II. Took out a huge rally from our school to the collectorate office with placards & slogans and our handmade bags.

10. III. We sang a song in our regional language about the ill effects of polythene usage(at Montessori Radio)

11. Students were advised to use hand made cloth bags instead of plastic covers. Few bags were prepared by students.

14. From Principal / Parent The activity has brought a minor change in behavior of students. At the same time, ban imposed by local politicians on plastic covers, also helped people around us to reduce using them in day to day life. Most of the people in our town are now switching on to hand made bags and have reduced usage of plastic bags. Head Mistress.
