3. CLEANINGTHE CANAL

4.  The water canal was a secondary source of
water to the Manjakollai village.
 Water from the canal was used for washing,
bathing and other secondary purposes.
 The canal was polluted with weeds, plants
and other dust making it less usable.

5. Action Taken
 Children gave petition to the village
Panchayat .
 Improper response urged the children to
take up the issue themselves.
 They initiated and cleared weeds and
plants from vital parts of the canal.
