3. Introduction
Over the last few years the use of information technologies in all
sectors have increased.
Advancement and application of information technology are ever
changing.
Some of trends in the information technology are as follows:
• Cloud Computing
• Mobile Application
• Digital Marketing
4. Cloud Computing
“Cloud computing is Web-based processing, whereby shared
resources, software, and information are provided
to computers and other devices (such as smart phones) on
demand over the Internet.”
The idea of the "cloud" simplifies the many network
connections and computer systems involved in online
services and resources.
It is the technology that uses the internet and central remote
servers to maintain data and applications.
6. Why Cloud Computing

7. History
The concept was coined by John McCarthy in 1960.
One of the first movers in cloud
computing was Salesforce.com, which
in 1999 introduced the concept of
delivering enterprise applications via a
simple website.
In 2002 Amazon started Amazon Web
Services, providing services like
storage, computation and even human
intelligence.
Then came Google Docs in 2006
9. SaaS
Software as a Service
Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over
the Internet – as a service.
This is the most common form of cloud computing which we see in
action.
It is a complete software offering on the cloud.
They are accessed by the customers on pay per use basis.
Ex:
No need of Hardware or Software.
SalesForce CRM, Google Apps
10. PaaS
Platform as a Service
Platform as a Service (or PaaS) provides Platform where applications
and services can be developed and hosted.
The consumer creates the software using tools and libraries from the
provider.
The provider provides the operating system, server side Scripting
environment, tools for design and development, networks, servers
storage .
Ex: Google App Engine, Window Azure (platform)
11. IaaS
Infrastructure as a Service
Provides Resources as services.
Hardware related services are provided using the
Infrastructure as a Service.
These include disk storage and virtual servers.
Ex: Amazon EC2, SQL Azure
14. Future of Cloud Computing
• It is going to be a most adopted computing model in future.
• No more frequent software updates.
• Education at our doorstep.
• Wallets will become history
• Cloud computing changed the traditional way of computing in
large extend. With the invention of more segments, we will see
our entire desktop, laptop would become invisible and we only
need lightweight devices, just to interface to the cloud computing
technology.
• All our computing and storage needs will become outsourced to
cloud environment.
15. Mobile Application
Another emerging trend within information technology
is mobile applications (software application on Smart

No single point of failure
A private cloud is a particular model of cloud computing that involves a distinct and secure cloud based environment in which the specified client can operate.
In this model cloud is only accessible by a single organization.
In a public cloud resources are available for the use of public.
In community cloud resources are shared by several organizations with same concerns.
A hybrid cloud computing is an integrated cloud service using both clouds to perform distinct functions within the same organization. for non sensitive operations-public cloud, sensitive operation-Public cloud .
