POSITION SOUGHT
Full-time permanent salaried position as band-class instructor, with a written contract. This position may entail
teaching elementary-school or middle-school or high-school students or any combination thereof, and it may
be pieced together by teaching band class at a number of different sites, adding up to a full week's work.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Election Judge, Cook County Clerk, Chicago, IL September 2016 to April 2019.
Perform duties of election judge in Federal, state, and municipal elections, both primary and
general elections.
Help to set up voting booths, voting machines, card programmers, and voter check-in equipment
on the day before the election.
Check in voters, as well as helping first-time voters, election-day registration, and directing
those who were not in the proper precinct as to where to find their proper polling place.
Program and issue cards for electronic card-reader voter machines, and issue write-in
ballots.
Assist with final tabulation of and consolidation of votes, payroll tabulation, packing of all
equipment, and delivery of ballots and other items to regional tabulation center at the end of
election day.
Self-employed Woodwind Performer, Chicago area February 2015 to present.
Play "the good old songs" (from the 1660s through the 1960s) on flute, clarinet, and
saxophone in solo (primarily) and duet performances at nursing homes, libraries, churches, and
other venues.
Woodwind Instrument Cosmetician, Quinlan and Fabish Music, Burr Ridge, IL
September 2008 to July 2013.
Cleaned and polished woodwind instruments (flutes, oboes, bassoons, clarinets, saxophones),
cleaned and spruced up instrument cases, and ensured that the proper instrument accessories
were stored in the cases in preparation for instrument rental and/or sale.
Tracked, stored, and prepared orders for woodwind-instrument accessories.
Wrote rental contracts at band and orchestra registrations.
Mentored part-time apprentice woodwind cosmeticians.

Archdiocese of Chicago, Diocese of Gary, and Diocese of Joliet September 1980 to May 2009.
Taught small-group lessons during the school day.
