Management Innovation Exchange (MIX) for
his previous work at Pfizer .
MORE HOURS IN THE DAY
•An average, 41% of knowledge workers time
are spend on activities that offer little personal
satisfaction and could be handled competently
by others.
•How knowledge workers can make themselves
productive?
•Experimentation on 15 executives and result
was a reduction in the involvement in low-value
tasks.
WHY IT’S SO HARD
Result of the interview conducted on 45
knowledge workers in 39 companies across 8
industries in US and Europe to see how they
spend their days.
•Rating tasks as easily off -loaded and tiresome
•Sorting the low-value tasks
WHAT WORKERS CAN DO
•Identify low-value tasks
•Decide whether to drop, delegate or redesign
•Off-load tasks
•Allocate freed-up time
•Commit your plan
CONCLUSION
•All the workers agreed to the fact that the
above exercises were useful forcing
mechanism to help them become more
efficient , effective and engaged employees
and managers.
•All you have to do is ask the right question
and act on the answers.
