The vaginal flora consists of various species of bacteria
(microorganisms) which form a film called biofilm on the surface of
the vaginal mucosa.
This biofilm acts as a protective barrier which prevents harmful
bacteria from adhering to the surface of the vaginal mucosa.
The vagina is continuously moistened by discharge which helps
maintain a healthy vaginal flora. Normal discharge is usually clear
and without malodor.

In a healthy vaginal flora, "good" and "bad" bacteria coexist in a state
of natural balance.
Normal vaginal pH is between 3.8 and 4.2; it means that the vaginal
