Select ‘Library Search’
from the list of
resources
3. Sign-in to Library Search for full
functionality
Click on ‘Sign-in’,
choose ‘Middlesex
University’ and use
your MyUniHub ID
and password.
Signing-in enables you to access
full text material, check your
library record, request items,
create lists, save searches and
create alerts and export
references to RefWorks.
4. In order to find a dissertation….
….you can use the ‘Search
everything’ option (this is the
default search) or click on the
drop-down menu and select
‘Books+’ which excludes
journal articles from your
search. Click on the search
symbol when you are ready.
….type the word ‘dissertation’
into the search box followed
by a subject e.g. Forensic
computing or mental health, or
a programme e.g. BSc
Nursing……
5. Your search results are displayed
You can refine your search by
selecting ‘Dissertations’ from
the ‘Resource Type’ menu.
6. Your search results now display
‘Dissertations’ only
Click on the title for more
information about the
dissertation (see next slide).
7. You will need some of this information in
order to request the dissertation

In order to view the dissertation get a ‘Dissertation request form’ from the Librarian at
StudyHub (1st floor of the library). Complete the form and take to UniHelp.
Dissertations are issued for 3 hours for use in the Library only. In the evening
dissertations will need to be returned by 7pm when UniHelp closes.
