I am a Cuban-American born and raised in New York. I received my doctoral degree in Pathology at Columbia University and my medical degree from the Faculte Libre de Medecine in Lille, France. I completed an internship year in Pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital and I received subsequent training at Schneider Children's Hospital. I have done two post-doctorates in Andrology and Preventive Medicine and Nutrition. I attended St. John's University School of Education and I have been an adjunct instructor in Biology at SUNY at Old Westbury. I also have taught Spanish and biology at the secondary school level.
