This case report describes the treatment of a 67-year old female patient who suffered third-degree burns on her right hand from boiling oil during an epileptic seizure. She was initially treated with topical sodium hyaluronate and paraffin gauze debridement, followed by escharectomy and a skin substitute graft which partially failed. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) was then used in an outpatient setting for 20 days, alternating with 10 days of iodoform gauze dressing, followed by 12 more days of NPWT. This resulted in bone coverage, re-epithelialization, and an excellent healing outcome using a partial thickness skin graft. NPWT was concluded to be
