The Turkana Friends Mission in northwestern Kenya partners with Friends United Meeting to serve the nomadic Turkana people. The mission provides evangelism, pastoral care, education, water projects, and income generation. It operates 3 primary schools, nursery schools, sponsors girls' education, and installs hand pumps and biosand water filters. The mission aims to be self-sustaining and is entirely run by Turkana Friends, seeking to empower the community through entrepreneurship training and other initiatives. It hopes to build a conference center to generate further support for its ongoing work.
