This document discusses different patterns for based graphic designs. It identifies five main patterns: image based, shape based, typography based, blending based, and structure based. For each pattern, it provides a brief definition and examples of how that pattern can be used to structure a design around a main idea. The goal of based design is to effectively convey a message or idea through strategically incorporating graphic design elements according to certain patterns.

3. Based design is the way of expressing graphic designs
in terms of its idea and graphic design elements. Based
design illustrates the main idea behind the design, how
this idea delivers the message to audiences and what
pattern/technique was used to achieve that.
Based Designs – Definition
4. Based design has various types here we will call them
patterns. the number of patterns is not really constant as
new types may be added by new idea designs or simply
be generated as a hybrid of two other patterns.

5. Based design indicates that designers follow some
pattern to achieve the design idea. That pattern may be
caused by many reasons ex. Culture, fashion,
environment, personal preferences, target …

Based Design Patterns Examples
8. Design is mainly based on an image.
This pattern of design is widely used in web pages and
magazines.
It's elegant, smart, fast to produce and easy to manage.

9. Design requires some big image that doesn't contain
much details especially in background.
Text is added to image in a position so that image and
text within is balanced.

12. Design is mainly based on a shape or a group of shapes.
It's complex, unique, hard to produce or manage.
Based Designs – Patterns – Shape Based Design
13. Design is achieved by using a group of shapes that
together produces a another bigger shape or follow
same order, combined with one or many other design
elements.

14. Design is achieved by using a group of shapes that
together produces a another bigger shape or follow
same order, combined with one or many other design
elements.

15. Notice, this pattern preferably designed so that it
satisfies a kind of contrast in size between shapes.

17. Design is mainly based on a typography/text.
It's usually crowded, unique and hard to produce or
manage.

19. Design is achieved by one of two techniques.
Or the second, plenty of text is used together to form a
shape or an illustration.

20. Notice, this pattern must be designed so that it satisfies a
kind of contrast in size within text.

22. Design is mainly based on blended graphics.
It's complex, unique and the hardest to produce or
manage.
Based Designs – Patterns – Blending Based Design
23. Design is achieved by blending/combing images and
other design elements.
Based Designs – Patterns – Blending Based Design
25. Design is mainly based on images, shapes and other
design elements that follow some structure so it's tricky
to detect that pattern.
It's complex, unique and hard to produce.

26. Design is achieved by using images, shapes and design
elements all combined or lined somehow together.
