A leading bank based in Singapore was spending considerable portion
of their IT budget on proprietary database licenses. To reduce the
TCO of their total IT spend, their decision was to move towards open
source technology stack and cloud solutions. Based on these factors,
bank along with Infosys decided to evaluate multiple databases.
PostgreSQL was found to be the one which was universally acceptable
based on performance, support & security.
