Based on the text “The Universals”
there are many statements from various
philosophical sources that share a
common principle. One of these is “Do to
others whatever you want them to do to
you.” What is your idea about this
statement? Will you share it to the class?
The excerpt tells people to treat others as
they would want to be treated themselves.
And if one wants to be treated a certain way,
one should treat others in that way.
B. Motivation
Are you all familiar with the game “Bring
Me?”
I will give you first the instructions on
how to play it.
First, I will choose six players, then I will
group them into two. Each group will have three
players each.
The two groups will fall in line, then I will
choose 2 players, one from each group to play in
every round.
I will tell every player to bring me the
pictures of different facial expressions that is
hidden inside the room.
After bringing me the picture I’ve asked,
the player will imitate the facial expression shown
in the picture.
The player who will win in each round
will get one point. The group who earned the
highest points will be hailed as victors.
Are you ready?
Yes Sir.
Okay Sir.
Yes Sir!
4. C. Presentation of the Lesson
(The teacher will ask the winners then
write their answers on the board.)
Where did you find the smiley face?
I found the smiley face in the box.
Where did you find the angry face?
Where did you find the sad face?
I found angry face on the table.
I found the sad face under the chair.
Class, please look at the board then study
and analyze the sentences.
What words were used to describe the
locations of the pictures of the different facial
expressions?
What do we call these words?
(Specifically, they were used as
prepositions of place.)
Now, let us find out more about
prepositions, their functions and types.
The words used were in, on and
under.
They are called prepositions.
D. Development of the Lesson
Based on the activity you had, how will
you define or describe prepositions?
(Aside from that, they are also use to
describe time and direction. So, we can define
prepositions in this way: Prepositions – are
words that show spatial (space), temporal (time),
or logical relationship or association of an object
to the rest of the sentence.)
This time, you will have an activity about
the three types of prepositions namely;
preposition of time, preposition of place and
preposition of direction.
(In this activity, the class will be divided
into three groups. Each group will be given a set
of sentences to study and analyze. They have to
identify the preposition used in each sentence and
its function. They should present their answers in
table form using manila paper. After completing
the task, the group will select one of their
members to present their work to the class.)
