2. Initial Reaction
When we were initial informed about creating our own video game
concepts I was fairly confident. I believed that I would be able to
complete the tasks I would be assigned and have the final product be of
good quality. However as I begin the process to actually create the
product I am faced with many problems that I am finding difficult to
overcome. All ideas I have a feel as though have already been done
several times before and so I would not be able to make it unique. I'm
also limited to how complex my game can be. The final product is going
to be created using Photoshop and don’t posses a great deal of skills in
that program. Due to this I am only going to be able to create very
simplistic visuals for my game, this means that I am not able to produce
the complex and intricate product that I might have originally wanted
to create.
5. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
• Many dark colours giving off sinister moods.
• Many have menus for you to decide your next move.
• Very clear and easily able to distinguish friendly characters from the enemies.
• Majority of the games I have presented in the mood board happen to be in the 3rd
person giving the player the opportunity to be truly aware of their surroundings.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• My game will contain a colour scheme similar to that of the screenshots shown in my
mood board. I will use lots of dark colours to give my game a sinister overtone which
allows the player to feel immersed in the gameplay.
• I will also use a 3rd person perspective so that the player is able to see their character
and connect more to them.
