A huge amount of effort has been invested in setting up an aggregation ecosystem, standardisation and harmonisation of metadata.
Only a fraction of our heritage is currently available: from the 3.6 billion objects that need to be digitised, only about 4% actually is (146 million)! 20% of that is available in Europeana (30 million). That is great. But how much of that is in good enough quality under conditions that allow re-use? Defined as correctly labeled, with PD/CC0/Out of Copyright or any of the 8 CC licenses? In high enough quality? That is one of the questions that we need to resolve together.
