2. BASCA
The largest professional associations for music writers in Europe and
exists to support, protect and campaign for the interests of songwriters,
lyricists and composers.
This would mean a share of the profit from my album will go to the
songwriter for creating the song.
3. MPA
Their role is to safeguard music producers and writers against copyright
and stop the artists songs being used illegally. They are a non profit
organization.
This would mean none of the songs on my album will be used without
consent and will not be used to promote or advertise anything else.
4. PRS
They represent songwriters, composers and music producers. They collect
royalties whenever the song is played publicly on the radio or anywhere
else.
This would mean a small amount of the profits made on the album would
be given to the PRS whenever the song is played on the radio.
5. OFCOM
OFCOM is the communications regulator in the UK. They regulate the TV,
Radio and postal service etc. They make sure people get the best out of
their communications and stop scams.
This would mean when the album is created everything has to be done
fairly through OFCOM
6. PPL
PPL are a UK based music licensing company and performance rights
organisation. The company was founded in 1914 and collected fees for live
performances.
This would mean they would advertise my artists performance but along
with that they would collect a small part of the profits.
7. BPI
They are the British recorded music industry’s trade association. They work
with some of the biggest music companies in the UK.
This would mean if we worked with the company they would deal with all
the trades and partnerships we do.
8. Songrite Uk
If you register your copyrights with Songwrite they will deal and look
closely into if the song is being used illegally. They make sure no one is
claiming the song as there own
With this company. In return for a small amount of profits they will make
sure none of the songs on my album are being used illegally.
9. UK Music
They represent the collective interests of the recorded they make sure the
music industry is equal and nothing tis done illegally
This means a small amount of profits will go to this organisation but they
will protect the album against copyright and any of the songs being used
illegally.
10. Copyright/intellectual property rights
Copyright will protect my printed work as it stops other
people using it without consent. It will prevent people
from copying my work and distributing copies of it,
either free of charge or for sale. This will massively alter
my profits.
11. Slander/libel
Slander/libel will affect my print product as
they are civil wrongs that will harm my singer’s
reputation. For example they will decrease the
level of respect, regard, or confidence of my
performer. This will affect my overall profits as
less people will want to purchase it
12. Royalties
Royalties will cover the expenses associated
with maintaining the operation such as the
parent company’s ongoing training programs,
any operating manual updating, promotions
and advertising and to allow the company to
keep up on new technology.
13. Violence
Violence will affect my print product entirely because
is any form of violence is encouraged or used on my
album it could appear offensive to some of my
audience. Also some of my audience may try to
imitate this thinking it was okay.
14. Offensive language/behaviour/material
Advertising coders do not prohibit swearing,
this is because it could be seen as funny or
offensive to certain viewers, therefore
decreasing a wide audience. This will therefore
affect the overall profits.
15. Public interest
Public interest will affect my print product. This
is due to it being the welfare of the public,
who are the primary factor of the whole
advert. If my digipak does not appeal to the
public it will not sell and will reduce profits.
