7. Immersive Technology
Virtual Reality for Army Training - Soldiers execute a mission
in the Dismounted Soldier Training System, a state-of-the-
art training that combines gaming and virtual technology.
Soldiers can train together in real-time using the DSTS as
commanders watch and supervise.

Immersive technology refers
to technology that blurs the
line between the physical
world and digital or
simulated world, thereby
creating a sense of
immersion.
8. The Benefits…
Easy and fast to set up.
Gets new hires trained faster and
productive sooner.
Learn from everywhere,
anytime, anywhere.
Train from the field with minimal
disruption to productivity.ƒƒ
Reduce travel-related hassles and
improve quality of work.

10. Before you start teaching, it is essential that you
get to know the surroundings in which you will
be working. Some suggestions for becoming
familiar with the equipment are:
Attend an introductory session;
Book a time to visit the room with a
technician or experienced user;
Sit in on a teaching session;
Book a practice session, ask someone to
observe you and give feedback.
Getting Familiar with Video Conferencing
11. Communication -
Clear voice and
instructions.
Increase eye contact
(all states involved)
and body language.
Convey the presence
of an individual.
Remote facilitator.
12. Hold and answer all
questions during
Q&A session.
Ask all states and
frequently get them
involved in all
activities
Design suitable
activities that all
participants can get

Don’t forget! You

16. Frogs typically lay their eggs in water. The eggs hatch into aquatic larvae,
called tadpoles, that have tails and internal gills. They have highly
specialized rasping mouth parts suitable for herbivorous, omnivorous or
planktivorous diets. The life cycle is completed when they metamorphose
into adults. A few species deposit eggs on land or bypass the tadpole
stage. Adult frogs generally have a carnivorous diet consisting of small
invertebrates, but omnivorous species exist and a few feed on fruit. Frogs
are extremely efficient at converting what they eat into body mass, which
makes them an important food source for predators. Frogs are a keystone
group in the food web dynamics of many of the world's ecosystems.

21. Font size = 32 title , 24 body text
Lowercase lettering for body text – easy to read
Background – Avoid busy, hot, florescent colors
Use keywords – Simplify paragraph and elaborate during class
Convert text to diagram/table/chart where applicable
Add video/game/quiz at every 10-15 minutes of presentation
Present engaging content
Immersive technology refers to technology that blurs the line between the physical world and digital or simulated world, thereby creating a sense of immersion.
Easy and fast - Allow organizations to be flexible with the demand of training.
Gets new hires trained faster and productive sooner.
Learn from anywhere - study from a variety of states, time zones and countries.
Allows learners to train from the field with minimal disruption to productivity
Reduce travel-related hassles and improve quality of work life
Using video conferencing technology does change the normal teaching environment and this can cause concern for tutors and students alike. However, by approaching the possibilities offered by video conferencing in a positive manner the learning experience can turn out to be successful for all concerned.
Remote facilitator – good to have, not necessarily an SME, but must know about video conferencing give feedback and suggestion.
Why do we need to present engaging content? Is it important? It will help the learners to understand better and to engage them with the course or topic.
Designing the Lesson. There something for us to learn here: good design engages us. When we’re mentally engaged, we’re more apt to remember and learn. Without instructional design, the learner might or might not get the information they need. Because of instructional design, you can get the learners to cut through a lot of extraneous information and get right to the important stuff.
Avoid using colors to differentiate items as this method wont work for color blind people. For example, do not use red to indicate it is wrong and green as right. Just put text next to it to indicate right and wrong (yes/no, right/wrong, 1/0 etc).
Understanding and applying basic principles of visual design can make your materials easier for others to understand and use where it can increase readability.
