Mission Statement
The Farmington Community Gardens is a community project
sponsored by the Farmington Democratic Committee. The
Community Garden Stewardship Committee maintains, coordinates,
and supports the Community Gardens as a site for public gardening
using community owned land in the Town of Farmington. The use of
both individual and communal gardening spaces for growing fruits,
vegetables, and herbs enhances and supplements the nutritional
needs of our citizens. The Committee believes that promoting the
growth of fruits, vegetables, and herbs using ecologically friendly and
green gardening initiatives will foster healthy and sustainable
gardening practices, aid in the nutritional support of our citizens, and
provide a beneficial use for town land that develops the
environmental, ecological, and nutritional literacy of our community.
