audiences?
Genre is important to an audience overall, as it releases
details on what the film will be like or is supposed to be like,
reaching out to the wanted and intended audiences. This then
allows them to know what style of film they should be
expecting to see, and how they will probably feel after
watching the film. For example, a romance film may involve
tears and plenty of soppy moments, compared to a horror
film that would involve a lot more jumping and
uncomfortable moments.

producers?
Genre is important to producers, as they have to be able to
produce a film of the correct genre to keep the intended
audiences focus. This involves knowing what dialogue to use,
for example, an action movie may have a lot more swearing
in it, compared to a romantic film, what props to use, for
example a sci-fi movie would involve a lot of space related
props, how the set should be intended to look, for example a
horror movie may be set in a woods, or somewhere secluded,
and overall the right actors for the intended role, as you may
not be expecting to see Dwayne Johnson as the lead role of a
Nicolas Spark novel.
