MY KINDNESS
“Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see” is a famous
saying.
“What you give, so shall you receive,” says the Holy Book.
Kindness is a virtue which is ethical and the individual feels compassionate and
empathetic.
For every kind act we do, we enlighten somebodies’ life. It is a chain reaction
which will get back to you in one way or the other, in any form at the time of
your dire need.
According to me, kindness can be expressed in so many ways through
thoughts, words or deeds. Being kind to others, animals, and all living things is
important. But being kind to ourselves in the definite need of the hour, no
matter what the scenario may be.
It makes you satisfied, feel contented, and happy and brings you inner peace. It
is not necessary to spend money to act kind. It can be a small help, a smile at a
stranger, a hug to your friend, or an act of appreciation to someone who is
gloomy. It will not only brighten your day, but it also kindles and ignites the
other person’s spirit. The satisfaction you receive on spreading kindness and
the positive response you receive knows no bounds. It is natural to be kind to a
known person, but being kind to strangers irrespective of their status and
creed is what’s more important.
I start my day by spreading kindness with a simple smile at the passerby. If I
see an old person carrying a heavy bag, I will be a helping hand.
If I see a depressed soul or someone who has lost their loved one, I motivate
them, cheer them up, do random visits, make them feel positive that life has to
go on and make sure they are OK. It does not cost me a thing other than my
heart’s own content.
I ask myself a question often if I do this act will it take me to heaven? And I
immediately get the right solution. Let’s say you feed a stray dog at the corner
of your street, you smile at it, say some kind words to it and feed it, when
2. possible, it will start guarding your house and makes sure none of the other
stray dogs hurt you when you wander around.
Most importantly kindness to me has often been associated with food. A
stomach should never go hungry. A satisfied stomach leads to a contented
heart, which satisfies the soul. In return, you are blessed by that person from
their soul. We are blessed so that we can take care of the needy.
I will list out some random acts of kindness which I do in a daily basis:
1. Make some tea and fritters for our household workers when they come
home. Nobody should go hungry at the end of the day.
2. Lend some money to the servants and those in need for their children’s
education, because the backbone of the country lies in its education.
3. I have paid college fees for a few of my students who lost the
breadwinner of the family, to complete the course. This has been done
some years back and still, they are not aware of who paid for them. As
Bible says
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right-
hand doeth” (Matthew 6:3)
4. Helped to make jewellery for a bride’s wedding who lost her mom to
Cancer and her dad to another illness.
5. Make yourself available to a friend who met with an accident so that
they have someone to rely on.
6. Feeding all the birds in the neighbourhood with bird feeders and giving
water to all animals on the side of the road is also an act of kindness.
7. Doing the duty of your colleague when they fall ill.
8. Share your favourite book with a colleague, as it might ignite a
conversation and would lead to a stronger friendship.
9. Help blind people to cross the road.
10. Pray for someone silently when they are in urgent need.
11. Offering a ride for a friend to get back home and so on.
The most important part which should be understood is “MY KINDNESS IS NOT
MY WEEKNESS” I only do it as simple steps which will make people around me
happy. It should make them have a positive attitude towards me in their
presence.
Apart from cleanliness, kindness also leads to Godliness. It takes you one
step closer to your maker and makes the other persons day a little brighter.
3. Being kind to myself is what we should all practise from time to time.
Everybody is in a rat race, trying to please someone, be it their boss, their
subordinates, their spouse, loved ones etc., but how are you going to make
yourself happy at the end of the day? I take care of myself by watching a movie,
going for a stroll, calling up my best friend, or even window shopping. I also
spend my time by penning down my thoughts.
Kindness is a virtue which makes one’s life bright,
Without trying with all your might.
It makes your bond with someone stronger,
And makes your relationship more stable and last longer.
Make a depressed person happy and gay,
And expect nothing in return no matter what people say.
For greater is your blessing above,
Because God knows you do it out of pure Love.
When you see someone struggle and be kind to them,
Step by step you can see their progress,
Which will eventually lead to your great success.
