The Howler monkey is a omnivore that means they will both eat plants and other animals .
The food that they will eat most often is that they will eat lots of leaves most of the time but
there are sometimes that they will also eat lots of fruits and they will also eat maggots to
and they will also eat other different types of forms that are vegetables to. There is no other
primate in the world that will love leaves the that howler monkeys to . These monkeys love
leaves more than any other primate that is in the species especially the primates that are
in the new world group. The reason why these monkeys love leaves so much is that is
because they can live for week at a time when they are only on leaves that is because they
have a very special adaptation that is located on their gut this will let the monkey to utilize
leaf fiber which they will use for lots of their energy. The food that they will eat the most is
leaves .the reason why they eat leaves the most is because so it can help with their
nutritional and their water needs . But howler monkeys will eat more food than just leaves
they will also eat other food to and the food that they will normally eat are fruit, buds, seeds,
moss and they will also eat flowers to. These are the foods that will normally supplement the
monkeys diet needs. The howler monkey is whole lot different new monkey than all the
other species of new world monkey and that is because they rather eat mature leaves
than to eat leaves that are just been grown . The other food that they will eat is different
types of fruit, nuts and they will also eat different types of flowers to. These monkeys can
eat more than just plants they will also eat other animals to like the food that they will eat is
small birds, different types of reptiles and they will also different types of mammals to.

The howler monkey can be found in the parts of South America that are in parts of
America that are in Central part of the region . The other places where they can be found is
that they can be found in Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. The howler monkey will
spend a lot of their time high up in the trees. They like to live in habitats that are in forests
that is surround with lots of different plants all around it. The other peoples where they can
be found is that they can also be seen in tropical rainforests, evergreen forests. The other
places where they can also be found is in seasonal deciduous forests that has lots of open
savannas. The howler monkey is part of a group of monkeys that is called the new world
monkeys group. These monkeys can be located in central and in South America. There
are about 9 different species of howler monkey that can be found in the tropical rainforests
that is in South America.The biggest species of howler monkey they will normally live on
the continent of South America . The other places where these monkeys will live is in
Central and in South America. Their real home is really high up in the treetops that is in

continents and they are North and south America. they will also be found in central
America to . The type of habitats that they monkeys will normally live in is really in
rainforests that are in southern part of Brazil, they can also be be found on the northern part
of Bolivia. The other habitats where they will live is really in forest canopy. These monkeys
can also be found on north Colombia . They can also be found on the venezuela this place
is located on the south of the Amazon. The other places where these monkeys can be
found is in the Andes which is located on the south of Central Bolivia. the best habitats
that these monkeys can be found is in Tropical areas like rainforests and in tropical dry
forest. These amazing monkeys can also be found in lots of different parts of South
America like they can be found in is Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and they can also
be found in a place that is called Uruguay. The best places to found a howler monkey is
really in South and in Central America. these monkeys like to live in places that have
rainforests that have very tall trees so that they can walk around in the trees. These
monkeys can walk to tree to another tree without even touching the ground. The type of
habitats where these monkeys can be found is in type of places that are rainforests that are
usually found in South Mexico , eastern part of Bolivia, They can also be live on the
southern part Brazil, Paraguay and the other place where these monkeys can be found is
in the northern part that is in Argentina. They will mostly spend so much of their whole time
high up in the trees . They will spend a lot of thier time on the top of the forests canopy. The
canopy is a very special layer that is usually found on the top of the rainforests this is will
let the a little bit of light into the the underbrush. These are the type of places where these
monkeys live on.

The howler monkey can live about 15 to 20 years when they are in their natural habitat.
Their normal life span will usually be about 20 years. They can also live about 15 to 20
years when they are living in the wild. When these monkeys are in their natural habitat then
they can live until they are about 16 to 20 years and when they are in a zoo than they can
live until they are about 23 to 28 years that is how they live when they are living in a zoo.
The average life span for a black howler monkey is 15 to 20 years.

The howler monkey lives in a group that is called troop just like any other primate that is is
in this animal family. They will mostly spend a lot of their time high up into the tree­tops so
that they can feed on so many different types of leaves that they get when they are up in the
trees . In their groups they can have the total of 30 members in their social group but there
are some troops that can even have about 5 or 8 members in their social groups this is
the most common account of members that will normally be seen in these types of families.
There are about different seven families in the group that will normally help each other with
different types of activities like for taking care of younger when the when the mother is out
looking for something to eat and they will also help each other by cleaning each other ( in
other words this means grooming ). They will also help by protecting each other there are
sometimes that even the males will also help take care of the little ones to when the mother
is not around to take care of them . but they are not allowed to help at all that is because
they normally kill the babies . When the morning comes then they will be the time when all
of the howler monkeys that are in the group will start to howl out into the dawn time of the
day. But they like to be away from other howler monkey troops but these primates happen
to be very strict when it comes to their territory . Only the males will only be the ones that will
be the color black the females are normally have a more yellowish­buff fur. The black
howler monkey is known to be a very social primate just like any other animal that is in the
animal group. The black howler monkey I lives in a group that can have as many as five to
19 different black howler monkey that can live in their troop. This type of animal group there
are about one or three adult males that are usually seen in this type of troops and there are
about two or four females that can be found in this group and with young ones to. These
monkeys are known to live in bachelor groups. There are so many things that they do has

do is they will carry their babies and they will also groom each other and they will also
protect the little ones and they will mostly protect them then to protect themselves . But
there are sometimes that the males will sometimes take over for the females to when the
females are not there to take care of the babies .

morning and they will also make these calls in the evening time as well. That is usually the
start in every morning in the life of an howler monkey and they will also use their calls at the
end of the day to. These monkey are known to be the most noisy and the most loudest
animal than all the other new world animals that is on the planet today. The sound of an
howl of an howler monkey can be heard over threed miles away.They will also be heard in
dense forests to. The howl monkey will normally howl when morning comes so that it can
mark their territory and sometimes their howlings mostly sounds like a often to be very loud
indeed and they will also make a very loud and deep roar .The male howler monkey will
normally use their very loud calls so that they can protect their territory from other male
howler monkeys that wants to take over their territory and call it all of their own. The howler
monkey will also use their special call so that they can answer a call that is coming from
another male that can be heard in a earshot. every single howler monkey will normally use
their howling during the day and they will also use their calls at the end of each day as well
and they will do it by doing a soundcheck of so that they can keep their competitors away
from their territory and so that they can found out if there is an rival that maybe coming
closer to their homeland. They will also use thier calls if they found food and they are telling
other howler monkeys to stay away from it. They will also use it to get other howler
monkeys are other animals away from the food that they just found so that they can keep it
all to themselves. How these monkeys got theri name from the calls that they make . These
calls can be heard by human from 5 kms away. These calls can be so loud the reason why
they are so loud is because have an very specail voice boxes and a pouch that is usually
found in their throat this will normally change the volume of the sound . This call sounds a lot
like a horn of an old gramophone. Both male and the females will both use these type of
calls but the males call is a lot louder and it is also lot deeper than the females are. They
will use this call to get other members of their close together so that they will know where
each other is. They most reason why they use these calls so that they can other members
of the troop know where they are so that they do not get lost somewhere in their
habitat.There is a reason why these monkeys are called the howler monkey that is because
they have a howler sound this monkey is known to be the most loudest land animal in the
world. The most second loudest animal on the planet is the blue whale. the monkey that will
do most of the howling will mostly be the males and the their calls can go for miles. They

first place is that inside these monkeys body they have an special bone that is inside them
that is called the hyoid bone and this bone is located in their throat that will normally change
and they will even form into a bony box and this is called a corniculum. The corniculum
looks like an egg­shaped pouch and it acts more like an amplifying chamber. This is how
these monkeys can make their howling calls so that they can out­howl all other animals that
live on land. There is a reason why these monkerys are called the howler monkey and that
is because they make a very loud howling call. The reason why these calls are so loud that
is because that they have a very special voice box and a pouch that is located in their
throat. This is how these monkeys can howl.

The most largest monkey that is in New World group is these monkeys have very long hair
on them but their faces are all hairless which means that there is no hair that is showed on
their faces. They also have very long necks that happens to be very small and their jaws are
very big. Their lower jaw has an angle that can help them to make those calls sound more
loud and resonant. These monkeys legs are very bulky and they are so different than the
other monkeys that are in the New world monkey group. Just like any other monkey in the
world they have prehensile tails these tails are a whole lot different than the other tails that
other animals have and that these tails can grip onto different tree branches. These
monkeys will use their prehensile tails as a fifth limb for when they are up in the branches.
These monkeys also have an prehensile tail. This tail is like an extra arm that they use to
grab onto trees and it also helps them to hold onto branches to. This tail can really come in
handy because they do not go on the ground a lot that is because that is where their food
is. The old monkeys do not have these special tails like the New world monkeys do. Their
tails can be very long than their bodies are. Just like any other monkey that is an New
World monkey they have a special tail that is called prehensile tails. These tails are an
extra arm that can help these monkeys to climb and they can do that when they are
wrapping around their tree branches. There are some of them that have a naked
underside of them. On top of the howler monkey’s tails are very furry but underneath the
tails are not so furry. The fur that are on these tails gives these monkey’s tail a better grip
when they are on a tree. The howler ‘s tall can be very strong and they can be so strong that
they can even hold onto object that can be their entire weight . But these monkeys do not
always hang on branches with their tail. The time that they will use their tails is when they
need to grip onto branches so that it can eat and move around when they are high up in the

6. trees. The only predator that the howler monkey has are the very big birds of prey like the
harpy eagle. These are the birds that will easily kill a howler monkey for food.

The howler monkey will be ready to mate when they are 5 years old. But there are some
times that they have to wait much longer that is because of lack maturity. A female howler
monkey will only give birth just one baby at a time . The first food that the baby monkey will
eat will be it’s mother’s milk. The baby is in one month than that will be the time when they
will be time time when they will use their tail so that they can hang onto their mother’s fur.
When the baby is a newborn will only start out by holding on to their mothers belly and then
they will start to ride on their mother’s back and they will do that all year long. These
monkeys will mate any time of the year.Both sexes will look for a number of mates before
they pick the right the one. The females will start to give birth to her new babies in about
140 days. After they are done give birth to one baby. They will normally be born with a
baby filled with hair all over them and they can even hold onto their mother’s belly fur but
they will only do that when the baby is a newborn . The mother can still look for food when
the baby is hanging onto her belly . When the baby gets a little bit older than it will start to
move up to it’s mother’s back . The baby will continue to ride with it’s mother in one year
but they are totally not ready to leave until in 18­24 months.that is usually the time when the
baby will continue to ride with it’s mother. When the young males reach their sexual maturity
than they will be the time they get kicked out of the troop then they will start to look for a
troop of their own . When the males does finds a troop and they have taken over the troop
the first thing that the new dominant male will do is to kill all of the babies that belonged of
the last dominant male that ruled the troop before this male did. The new comer will never
look after another monkeys youngers. They will only watch out for his youngers that is
because they all have his gene. So that the females can mate with him so that he can pass
his gene to his babies. A howler monkey will mate all year long . The Gestation period for
them is 180­194 days. A female will become a mature adult in 3 or 4 years and the males
will be at least 5 years. A newborn baby will usually hold onto its mother’s belly and when
they get older than they will move up to the back and they will least about only just for one
year.

that these monkeys are also having trouble with their habitat these monkeys are losing
their habitats that is because people are planting their crops on their land and people are
also raising their livestock on their land to. The is the real reason why these monkeys are in
trouble today. These monkeys are listed under being threatened but they are in danger that

destoryed to. There is another reason why these monkeys are in danger and that is they
are being killed for food and they are also getting killed by local tribes and they are also
being taken away from their rainforests habitats because people want to keep these
monkeys as pets. This threat is called the pet trade. The howler monkey is not a very good
pet to have that is because they are very social and they can also be very loud to. The
reason why they are so loud is because of their howling calls that they use. The howler
monkey is getting helped from an program that is called the European Endangered
species and it can also be called the (EEP) and this program is helping the black howler
monkey. The howler monkey are listed as the list of threatened species but hey are also
listed as Least concern to. The reason why these monkeys are in great danger is because
people clearing up their rainforest habitats the way that they are doing this is by them
cutting down the trees and they also getting logging them to the reason why people are
destroying these monkey’s habitats is because so that they can make more room for
agriculture and because of grazing to. All of these threats are making the populations for
these species is starting to make a decline on these animals population. There are so
many reasons why the howler monkey is in trouble today. The howler monkeys that live in
Argentina provinces of misiones, Salta, Formosa and the howler monkeys that live in
Corrientes are mostly the ones that are dealing with the agriculture and grazing these are
the places that are dealing with these problems . The habitat of the howler monkey is
starting to overlap with seven different types protected areas. The other problem that these
monkeys are going tough is that there are so many people that are hunting them. The
howler monkey has an natural and an
human­induced threats that are known to their existence. The other name for the black
howler monkey can also be called a baboon that lives in Belize . These monkeys are all
endangered all over their home range that is because they are being hunted and also
because their habitats are getting destroyed. Their habitats are getting destroyed because
people are clearing up their homes. This is a very huge problem for the howler monkey that
is because they need seven different areas that is in their forest habitat and it is very
important for their troop families to and these habitats are starting to become very rare all
over their home region. The howler monkey is getting hunted for food and they are also
getting killed for sport to. there are so many experts that think that these monkey species
will start to become extinct in the next 35 years in the future.
