I was part ofthe team that helped introduce the Irish Red Cross and Red Crescent
Community based health and first aid in action program, teaching Red Cross, health & first
aid courses, helping people to stop smoking, organising testing for HIV, cholesterol, etc. I
have setup and chaired many community groups and projects, such as active retirement
community Christmas parties, smoking cessation groups, Drug, alcohol and violence
prevention groups and charity mini marathons. I was a long standing member ofthe local
church quire and play with different groups ofmusicians. I also have some experience in
building development, with experience in carpentry, basic skills in block laying and arc
welding and am in the process of self-renovating my home.
