2. Project’s goals
ΤLIST is a project aiming at supporting senior women’s inclusion in the knowledge society by closing the gender & age digital divides. The main objective is to increase the ICT competences and digital literacy (e-skills) of women aged 50+ and to promote their access to web based services and information.
LIST will do it using innovative didactics, tools and training offers based on intergenerational exchange with digital natives.
The ultimate goal is to contribute to women’s participation to Vocational Education and Training (VET) and to favor those who want to stay active in the labor market.
Pilot activities will take place in 5 countries: Greece, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and UK- Scotland. The project is running for 24 months, from November 2013 until October 2015.
Project’s Actions
Senior women’s needs analysis
LIST partners will run a survey based on a multilingual questionnaire for understanding profiles of women aged 50+ with lower level of education and/or economically inactive and assess their ICT knowledge needs and interests. The survey also aims at raising women’s awareness on possible use they could make of the Internet and Digital tools and to attract them as potential attendees of the training courses which will be organized.
Train the Trainers curriculum and Young tutors’ recruitment
ΜBased on the existing expertise from partners and building on the needs’ analysis, curricula will be designed aimed at training trainers and tutors. Trainers will be experts in ICT adult learning, while tutors will be selected high school students engaged in pedagogical studies. The training curricula will be focusing on gender and generational digital divide and innovative and interactive methodologies enabling them to work with senior. In total, 120 trainers and tutors will be trained with the LIST’s peer to peer quality certified methodology.
Digital Skills training sessions for senior women
3. LIST will offer training courses to at least 200 women in Greece, Norway, Poland, Scotland and Sweden, so that they can get familiar to and learn how to use computers as well as mobile devices to have access to the information and web based services they might find the most useful and interesting. Two courses per country of eight hours each approximately will take place during the first half of 2015.
Communication and exploitation of results
A final conference will be organized in Glasgow, Scotland in September 2015 to present LIST project’s results and deliverables.
