3. The Problem
confirm the poor track record in managing school
to work transition, the need for radical overhaul
and improvement in vocational education and
training along with the urgent address to employers'
concerns about the work readiness and employability
skills of many school and college leavers and graduates.

Our Future
Lord Baker: vital practical skills

4. OurSolution
What we do not want to happen though, is to go from one bad system to
another, so we are more cautious now. We do a lot of research to make sure that we decide on
what makes sense and actually fulfills the requests of the future employers, by asking the
current employers what is missing from the skills of the students today.
We have various opinions of how we measure our qualifications in this country, and they have
changed dramatically over the last few decades. Our marking of them and the levels of grades
have also changed equally over the years, so we shall avoid that discussion here.
Of course we now as a country have a generation of more capable and work ready seniors
continuing to work well into their 70’s. This does not help when we have to try to give our
young jobs.
What we do want to discuss is how we propose a solution to the problem that we are facing today,
so here it is.
In conjunction with the Welsh Chamber of Commerce’s recent survey in Wales and with the CBI
survey for the UK we have developed talks and courses to help with the skills which are lacking
currently. The reasons why so many businesses do not take on new staff from Schools, or
apprentices from our Colleges or post graduates from the Universities have been acknowledged
and with our delivery of essential Employability skills and Goal setting support we can engage and
change the future.
Chamber of Commerce & CBI UK
With our Course in Employability we shall able to offer ‘All Students’ the skills they will need when
they begin to look towards the World of Work. It begins when they are in Year 9 of School with
goal setting and motivation towards self belief, with a recap and motivational talk at the end of
school life and for those that are already in College or University we have slightly different training
for each step of the way. Making everyone aware of the need for the skills way before the crunch
time of getting a job. From the time they choose their Employment Pathway we will help them to
understand their sector and what specific skills are required for those areas. These build upon the
basic skills learnt prior to this point.
Good Educators all over the country and the world know that the current state of education
needs to change.
The Employment Pathway
“Educate the student in the reason why they need education,
not for the job, but for the Dream, the Goal that they have in Life.
If they want something, they have to go and get it, they have to work for it,
they have to achieve.
Only then will they reach the goal.”

Engaging Your Students
In this way you introduce a relationship between both the
student and the teacher. This will enable more interaction,
discussion and understanding.
With every class there shall be a challenge, but that is for
the tutor to take on and show their critical skill, that of
engagement. We know they have the qualification in their
subject but do they have the skills and time to pass it on.
On top of this add the increase in reports, and teaching time
has reduced and the pressures with deadlines has increased.
How We Do Things
... using our mentoring and coaching skills we are able to engage with people easily
and continue to keep their attention whilst passing on the information in a fun
inclusive, interesting and useful way. This ensures that whomever we are in front of
retains the information and starts to make it intrinsic.
As professional motivators and inspirational speakers...
Differently
We are used to get across a message to the students about focussing their attention and setting goals for
their future. We shall be able to give them guidance from the first introduction through to completion of
employment, being called upon whenever they feel they may need us. Our team of staff shall be
equipped with the skills and information to help students as they progress through each stage. In
this way we shall ensure that we keep all of our information up to date, from the latest employability
needs of employers and the current economic market along with future projections forecasted by the
government.
Taking time to get to know your students and help them to
know you, shall ensure engagement.
6. L i v eAudio / Visual
Demonstration
Inclusive
Fun
Interactive
Using the Latest Technique to Engage our Students, we have the addition of
In-Person Live Audio Visual Demonstration. If you haven’t heard of it, let us explain.
We use a combination of techniques,
firstly we ‘talk’ in a way of including stories for
examples, which give depth to what we are putting
across. The usage of two staff members in front of
our audience keeps the dialogue up-beat and interesting.
The tone Never gets monotonous.
Secondly we use Keynote on displays, whether
in a class room or auditorium, we use images that
give colour to our stories and topics which we are
educating our audience in. This makes it easier for
some who would find reading labourious
or difficult to keep up with.
and Lastly, we use Demonstration. This gives the audience
something to see ‘acted out’ in front of them, making
scenarios come alive and opening up discussion on how
things work and do not work in different arenas or as we
cover different sectors, in keeping with the topic.
All of these techniques combined add up to
a way in which we can communicate everything
we need to get across to everyone, so there is total
inclusion, more alertness, better understanding and
altogether a far larger percentage of information retained.
This is then building an intrinsic action in our audiences mind.
7. Website
Support
Up To Date
design is what is needed when you are designing an interface for young people to be engaged with,
so we are using the most up-to-date platforms to design our website. It is being especially created for
Education to Employment. Our support structure is to grow with the expansion of our company and
the continued growth of our delivery across the country. Our personnel, and those of 3rd parties we
shall be seeking, shall be trained specifically to be able to respond to questions via email/online chat
and later phone calls from students. The basic skills of counselling shall be employed by all staff
members when performing duties for this area of the business.
shall both be easy to follow and use similar techniques as we use in our live seminars, ensuring that
the students find this interactive and engaging, alongside the important function of giving direction
in choosing their Employment Pathway.
Our Exclusive Web Portal & Future App
Background Functionality & Useful Evidence
These are key background elements which take a great deal of research and implementation
to ensure all of our customers in the future can receive up to date information regarding
students on their pathway. To be able to know what choices your students have taken in their
Employment Pathway will give every tutor and educational establishment or project, detailed
evidence of how well their students need to perform in subjects to fulfil their dreams and
become employed in a career that they shall enjoy, excel in and achieve better results in for the
future. This Evidence shall be paramount to show success of the projects to funding bodies.

8. Ambassadorship
for Achievement
Recognition
Being given an accolade for achieving in life is simply wonderful. The feeling that overcomes
anyone who has ever achieved fills them with an immense self-pride and belief in what they
can achieve. There shall be many ways in which we are looking to reward every student as they
go through their Employment Pathway and our Ambassador Scheme is the tip of the Star. From
the moment they start to work at their goals they align themselves for reward, not only from us,
but of course by their own achievements and the realisation of their life changing. They may not
have realised prior to our talks, that they are in charge of their lives outcome, it will probably be
one of their first major independent decisions and we shall motivate them and inspire them to
keep going, or maybe even choose another pathway, because as life changes so can their goals.

Better careers advice is urgently required...
Nearly four out of five businesses (77%) across the UK feel the quality of
careers advice young people receive is not good enough to help them make
informed decisions about future career options. Only 7% consider the quality
of current careers advice to be adequate, producing a negative balance of -70%.*
Young people need the right
help to prepare for working life
Changes in technology, products and services, markets and
customer demand open up new, constantly evolving career
opportunities. The guidance and support young people
receive must match up to this – and reflect the reality of
the labour market.*
Employers place a lot of emphasis on finding candidates with the right skills and competencies
for their organisations. Depending on the career sector and profession you choose to work in,
there could be very specific skills, abilities and knowledge needed to do the job.
However, complementing these are general competences and behaviours that are essential for
successful working. These are often overlooked by candidates, but they are the things recruitment
professionals want to see evidence of.
