Academic History
I studied at Tadcaster Grammar school before I started York college. My main intentions
after finishing my GCSEs where to start somewhat of a drama course. Although after the
grades id got back doing media and drama at an A level wasn’t an option because of my
failed English language at the time. So for the year before moving onto lvl 3 media I decided
to do the lvl 2 media course because it would mean I could still do my drama outside of
college that I did, therefor having a balance in both areas.
In my GCSE the closest I got to media was filming drama rehearsals and final products. Only
other filming I did before college was my drama class outside of school (PQA) that aloud me
to experiment with films and try and make our own. Most of these where posted on the
pqa york website or YouTube channels. This is why media was a pick wen I went to college
because the idea behind working in that industry interested me and that’s why I wanted to
continue with media.
After my 1st year of level 3 media I want to continue making short films and going more in
depth into them that’s why that will be my specialist subject in my 2nd year. Hopefully
making more higher quality films I can put on my CV and YouTube channel. Therefor having
a Launchpad of content ready for wen I want to go to uni and show off what I can make.
If I was going to uni I would like to study a film or media topic because its what I've decided
to specialize in and its what I want to commit to in the long term.
Current Study
What I've learnt studying in year 3 compared to anything
else is the amount of work one person has to put in
behind the scenes ,to make a whole production work. So
having this Intel already means when it come to next year
when I want to specialize in this subject this means I can
plan ahead my ideas on the project. Meaning if I have
scripts and ideas at the ready I save time in production to
make better quality films. Therefor making better films
will mean having a better chance of being known for
good quality content as well as good know how on how
to use the equipment already. Therefor hopefully making
me a good candidate for the course I want.
The Future
Well in the future I want to be able to get into university and
study the subjects I want to. I want to continue making short
films in the future to come and upload them to my YouTube.
Although one of the main things I really want to do is voice
acting.
As much as doing a subject that requires a lot of acting in the
1st place voice acting has always been a real big interest of
mine after playing the game bio shock infinite and the motion
and voice capture of James Spader as Ultron. The idea of
voicing a character that isn't real and has somewhat power
even though you may not see there face. Something that I
really want to do and something I enjoy doing. I feel like doing
a media course will open up opportunity's to do something
like this. With a lot of the
Outside College
Outside college for about 12 years starting in 2005-2017 attending
drama schools in my spare time finishing at PQA in late 2017.
I also did work experience for nestle over the summer where I aided in
making social media posts and working with there team to make
advertisements and social media content. As well as analyses how
consumers responded to these products. This was mainly based round
the chocolate side of nestle. With most of my content posted on the
face book and Instagram as well as my ideas put on the drawing bored
for future reference. This was all done while I was working as a
bartender at my local pub too.
As well as I have a YouTube channel where I make content such as
short films and gaming videos that average about 30-40 views each.
These usually take about a month to make with really no constant
upload secdual.
Conclusion
The reason I want to go to university is to move
on and take the next big step in content
creation. Going to university will help me in this
and give me the knowledge to use my skills in a
very high level industry. There for in the future
employers will have and easy choice in picking
me over others due to my skill level and
knowledge of film, production as well as my
attitude towards it that all have been learnt via a
university.
Introduction
this is a document that will let me tell you a bit
about myself and my skills that I've learnt in the
past years that have shaped me and my skills as
a whole in the creative media and film platform.
Why I would want to take these next steps is to
improve my skills and make me a better
candidate in the future to employers and other
areas of work.

  1. Write a short paragraph about subjects you’ve already studied at school/college that have helped prepare you for your chosen courses at University- level 2 or GCSE level. What did you make? What skills did you learn? Why did this make you want to progress on and study further etc.
  2. Talk about this course- Level 3 Creative Media Production. Reference how it has helped you prepare for your chosen courses at University. What did you make? What skills did you learn? Why did this make you want to progress on and study further etc. Reference specific projects and software/hardware that you are familiar with.
  3. What do you want to do in the future (ensure it is related to the subjects you are applying for). How will university help you to achieve that?
