16
Growth Trend in Student Enrollment
GLBA has experienced
steady and consistent,
but responsible growth
every year for several
years.
17
Educational Focus
GLBA’s Educational Philosophy
1. Meet the needs of the individual
2. Place emphasis on volume of learning, not
volume of class time
3. Educate students from where they are
based on individualized diagnostics and
educational plans
18
Educational Focus
GLBA’s curriculum is geared towards providing the individual with the support they
need to be successful.
This is accomplished by:
1. Assessing the student’s
performance level
2. Prescribing an academic plan
unique to their needs
3. Providing a majority of educational
support one-on-one 19
Educational Focus
Students in our ACE classrooms are accomplishing curriculum that is prescribed
based on the academic need as determined by assessment.
This learning environment is
Highly-focused
Individualized
Student-directed
20
Educational Focus
Students in our more traditional classrooms using the Abeka curriculum
experience
Challenging coursework
Small class sizes
Technology integration
21
Educational Focus
A mastery of concepts must be achieved before students pass any
course.
22
Educational Focus
Strong Foundations
A high emphasis is placed on foundational math and phonetic reading in the
elementary.
In spring of 2015, 5th grade assessment showed:
71% were at or above grade level in Math
71% were at or above grade level in Reading
23
Educational Focus
Reading Skills
Elementary students sharpen their skills in reading through small group reading
circles several times a week. These times are led by upperclassmen providing the
students with needed reading practice, but also establishing relationships with
older student mentors and role models.
24
In addition, elementary students in the 3rd-5th grade participate in
monthly book report assignments to strengthen reading,
comprehension, and thinking skills.
High School Courses of Study
Meeting Student Needs
Counseling & Advocacy
Students at GLBA have access to experienced counselors to meet social,
emotional, and spiritual needs. GLBA has one trained counselor and several other
counselors with years of experience.
26
Staff prays dailys for students to:
- Be aware of their needs
- Become aware of our families and
their needs
- To learn every student’s name
Student Accomplishments
Regional Student Convention
Socorro, NM
GLBA has achieved:
First place in Music for six straight
years
First place in Academics five out the
last six years
CAP Award

also received the Communication and
Potential Leadership Award
27
Student Accomplishments
28
Student Opportunities
Technology
In fall of 2015, GLBA fully
implemented Google Apps for
Education in high school.
29
Student Opportunities
Technology
GLBA also purchased and deployed 15 brand new
Chromebooks for student use providing:
Digital learning tools
Fully controlled and monitored digital
environment
Cloud-based collaboration and storage
30
Student Opportunities
Advanced Media Application
This school year, GLBA added an advanced media class to
give upper high school students practical, hands-on experience
in the use of digital tools.
This class is responsible for taking pictures, updating school
social media, creating mailouts and producing our monthly,
student-led newsletter - the Contender Chronicles.
31
Student Opportunities
This fall, the Advanced Media Application
class led a fundraiser through GoFundMe to
raise funds to purchase additional media
equipment. We are proud to announce that
in two months they raised over $1,400.
These funds were used to purchase a high-
quality DSLR camera that is being put to
use by the media class.
32
Music Lessons
A large emphasis is put on music at GLBA. Currently
over 30 students (1/3 of our student body) are taking
piano lessons. Several students have already signed up
to take our newly offered violin lessons.
33
Athletics
GLBA competes in three different sports:
Basketball (guys)
Flag Football (guys)
Volleyball (girls)
34
Athletics
GLBA competes against other local Christian
schools. Because of our school size and league
size, ANYONE can be competitive no matter their
experience or skill level.
GLBA competes to reinforce these life principles
Teamwork Competitiveness
Discipline Leadership
35
Extracurricular
GLBA seeks to engage the student emotionally and spiritually through
extracurricular activities like
Colorado Teen Extreme Youth Conference
Grand Junction, CO
36
Philosophy
That our students might know and glorify God, our Creator That our students might come to know and trust in Christ as
Saviour and Lord
That parents might be helped in carrying out their God-
given responsibility of training their children in the
knowledge of God
That our students might learn that all wisdom, freedom, and
blessings come from God
That our students might come to an understanding and
appreciation of our responsibilities, rights, and freedoms
as citizens of the United States of America
That our students might come to understand that there is no
difference between the sacred and the secular. All things are
sacred, whether it be study of science or study of the Bible
That our students be prepared spiritually and
academically by receiving a solid foundation in the basic
academic subjects and that they understand these
subjects in the light of God’s Word
That our students develop an understanding and appreciation for
good music, art, and literature, and that they recognize and reject
that which is evil and degrading
That our students understand that their bodies are the
temple of the Holy Ghost
That our students develop a burden for the lost, and in obedience
to the Great Commission learn how to lead others to Christ
To develop a student body that is warm, genuine, and that
cares for others
To work with the students in cooperation with their parents, to
learn self-discipline under the direction of God’s Word. Our
approach is to teach right from wrong by providing a moral
example, boundaries, and Biblical instruction
