2. GWWO is currently working with Anne Arundel County
Public Schools on the new $100M, 366,780-SF
Severna Park High School, being designed to meet a
minimum of LEED for Schools Silver Certification. The
design is based on a feasibility study GWWO completed
for the high school in 2011.
The new facility is comprised of a multistory building
with a variety of single story elements. The school
building components form an open courtyard at the
core, share two entrance lobbies and are linked by
passage corridors. In addition to the new building, a
separated bus loop, parent drop-off area and parking
facilities will also be constructed.
The new building will be constructed in a single
phase on the grounds of the existing Severna Park
High School, while the existing school remains fully
operational. After construction, the existing facility
will be demolished, and new athletic fields will be
constructed in its place.
