TEVET is governed by TEVET Policy of 1996 (underwent
 review in 2008 and 2012) & TEVET Act of 1998 (amended
 in 2011).

Structure of TEVET
Ministry (Department of Vocational Education &
 Training): Policy development & review, M & E. Runs
 public institutions.
TEVETA: Regulates TEVET by ensuring that quality issues
 are addressed. Institutions and Lecturers are registered,
 and accredited.
Training Institutions (Public, Private, Community, Faith
 Based, trust) offer training in TEVET programmes from
 Diploma to Trade Test levels.

Recent Developments in TEVET
Merger of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science,
 Technology and Vocational Training to form Ministry of
 Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early
 Education (MESVTEE).
Accreditation of Trainers, Examiners and Assessors
TEVET Examinations conducted by TEVETA.
New modalities in Registration of Institutions
Increased number of institutions offering programmes
 through ODL and use of e-Learning.
Work-based Learning.
