TEVET is governed by TEVET Policy of 1996 (underwent
review in 2008 and 2012) & TEVET Act of 1998 (amended
in 2011).

4. Structure of TEVET
Ministry (Department of Vocational Education &
Training): Policy development & review, M & E. Runs
public institutions.
TEVETA: Regulates TEVET by ensuring that quality issues
are addressed. Institutions and Lecturers are registered,
and accredited.
Training Institutions (Public, Private, Community, Faith
Based, trust) offer training in TEVET programmes from
Diploma to Trade Test levels.

Merger of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science,
Technology and Vocational Training to form Ministry of
Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early
Education (MESVTEE).
Accreditation of Trainers, Examiners and Assessors
