My name is Garrett Sommers, and I come from
the rural town of Oakfield, Maine. My distain for
the way my small town has become is what
influenced my dreams and aspirations to work in
the industry. My distain also inspired me to focus
on personal growth and the way I am perceived.
In my past, I was in and out of the hospital due
to mental health complications. Today, I use
those experiences to challenge myself to work
extra hard and to exceed the expectations that I
had initially set for myself. What makes me
unique is my fighting spirit. I won’t allow any
inconvenience to get in the way of achieving my
goals and being at the place that I feel I deserve
to be at.

My distain for the way my small town has become is what influenced my dreams and aspirations to work in the industry. My distain also inspired me to focus on personal growth and the way I am perceived. In my past, I was in and out of the hospital due to mental health complications.
