1. Our Helping Today grant is making a difference
at Sarah A. Reed Children's Center!
Here are a few of the many ways your generous support is impacting our children and staff:
Our Hamilton Campus is in the process of transforming all
classrooms into innovative new Calming Classrooms, which
have proven to be very beneficial for our students with
behavioral health challenges. Pictured above is our first
Calming Classroom, which was completed at the end of
January 2022. This is one of the two Promethean SmartBoards
made possible by our Helping Today grant.
Sarah Reed staff members conducted an online workshop during the
agency's inaugural Diversity Summit, held virtually on July 14, 2021.
Pictured above are Jay Pashupathi, MS; Jermaine Easer, MPA; and Aliya
Jeelani, who utilized webcams made possible by our Helping Today
grant. This free virtual summit featured an opening address by Dr.
Denise Johnson, PA's Acting Physician General, along with a host of
presenters from the Erie community and throughout the state.
Ashley Bates, a teacher at the Partial Hospitalization Program
at our Hamilton Campus, incorporates laptops and online
learning into her curriculum to expand the learning possibilities
for her students. These laptops were made possible thanks to
our Helping Today grant.
Jessica Rose, a behavior counselor at our Partial Hospitalization Program,
uses a Promethean SmartBoard to take her students on a virtual underwater
adventure during the 2021 Summer Program. Your support through the
Helping Today grant made this activity possible and continues to provide
our children with a variety of innovative and exciting educational
opportunities.
