RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Ensure that billing information (AMA) is copied every morning.
 Maintain, diagnose and correct problems associated with Remote Switching
Centre (RSC), Outside Plant Module (OPM/OPAC).
 Examine telephone transmission facilities (RC28D Mux, CM6 Radios, SONET
Radios, T155A, XTERA, ADC, FMUX, VLX equipment) to determine faults and
apply corrective measures.
 Perform routine maintenance on data equipment (Paradyne 8820, 8620 and
4200 DsLAMboxes).
 Diagnose, identify and correct problems associated with customer telephones
lines.
 Transporting faulty circuit packs to Kingston for repair.
 Monitoring inventory of spare circuit packs and report status every Tuesday
morning.
 Request support from technical service centers when on-site procedures fail to
solve installation or maintenance problems.
 Analyze test equipment readings, and trouble reports to determine equipment
repair needs and required repair methods.
 Testing and replacing of equipment batteries.
 Wiring and testing of circuits.
 Test circuits and components of malfunctioning telecommunications equipment
to isolate sources of malfunctions, using test meters, circuit diagrams, polarity
probes, and other hand tools.

 Operations and maintenance of Remote Switching centre (RSC), Outside Plant

 Operations and maintenance of DATA equipment (8820, 8620 and 4200 internet
boxes)
 Introduction to Ericsson and Nortel Base Station (mobile equipment).
 Introduction to generator maintenance.
 Operation and maintenance of Nortel DMS equipment.
 Maintenance of transmission equipment such as FMUX, RC28D MUX, UMC,
SONET, CM6 RADIO, D448, VLX and QFLC.
 Introduction to CCS7(CBT)
 BB-STP (Broadband STP) operations.
