★ Themes generally revolve
around Hindu deities.

downtrodden and subaltern
folks.

6. Origin of Madhubani Paintings
★ Originated at the time of Sita’s
marriage.

geometric patterns.
★ Double line border, ornate floral
patterns,

★ The Colours are applied flat with
no shading.

★ NO sophisticated tools are
needed.
★ Brush made from Bamboo Twigs.

of cloth attached to a twig.
★ Nibs, matchsticks and dyes are
used these days.

exhibitions.
