2. For my media product I had six different photo shoots. This set of photographs is those from the first photo shoot which was outside a house in the evening.
3. I am pleased with this photograph, however I think the window in the background draws attention away from the model therefore I will not use it.
4. I will not use this photograph as there is no direct eye contact from the model.
5. I will not use this photograph because the models hair covers her face.
6. This is my chosen photograph from the first photo shoot.
7. Direct eye contact from the model – establishes a relationship with the reader Mise-En-Scene I wanted the artist to have a specific ‘Indie’ look so I chose a vintage fur coat for her to wear as well as red lipstick to enhance this image. This photograph was taken during the evening, outside a house with brickwork. I took this photograph in the evening as I wanted to use natural lighting and I think it is successful in drawing attention to the model in the bright fur coat.
8. The second set of photographs I have taken were outside a derelict shop in the evening.
9. I will not use this photograph as it is too dark and the subject cannot be seen.
10. I will also not use this photo because it is too dark.
11. Although I really liked the setting of this shoot I will not use any of these photographs because they are too dark.
12. The third set of photographs I have taken were set outside a pub and I chose to take them in front of the chalkboard as I thought it was a unique feature.
13. I like this picture however will not use it as there is no direct contact and it is very dark.
14. I will not use this picture as there is no direct eye contact.
15. I will not use this photograph because it does not show the full chalkboard in the background.
16. I will possibly use this picture if I exclude the irrelevant items of mise-en-scene such as the bag on the floor. I would also need to adjust the brightness of the photograph. However, I will need to consider that there is no direct eye contact.
17. I have taken a photograph of the chalkboard in case I want to use it for my media product. ‘The Lions Den’ is quite effective because if it is used it could connote the artist to be quite fierce . ‘Friday is Rock’ is also effective because it is relevant to the artist I am going to portray with a ‘rock and roll’ image. ‘Facebook’ is also relevant to my brand and how it is marketed so I think this would be a good use of mise-en-scene and setting.
18. This is my chosen photograph from this third photo shoot. Direct eye contact – establishes a relationship with the reader. Full – view and the chalkboard is in full view also.
19. The second photo shoot was in an indoors setting and I used artificial lighting.
20. I really like this photograph because there is direct eye contact. However, if I choose to use it I will crop the door frame out of the image as it is irrelevant.
21. I will not use this as there is no eye contact.
22. I will not use this as there is no eye contact and also the lining of the coat is visible and it draws attention away from the model as it is very bright.
23. I have chosen this photograph as the eye makeup and lipstick really stand out and there is eye contact. However to make this image suitable I will still need to adjust the exposure and crop/resize as appropriate.
24. Although there is no eye contact in this photo, the models eyes are still visible, the makeup stands out and the photograph is very focused and has a shallow depth of field so I think I will use this for possibly my double page spread.
25. The next photo shoot was in front of a wall with graffiti on. I did not take many photographs at this setting but I did select one that could be used for a thumbnail image to tease contents or possibly on my double page spread. I have chosen this photo as it maintains the rock and roll image I want to create for the artist.
26. From the next photo shoot I used a stage setting to portray the model ‘performing’ as a musician. I will not use this image as it is shot from too much of a low angle.
27. I will use this image however I will resize it to make it larger.
