  Garden Gazebo Houston.
A garden gazebo is the ultimate garden structure within your landscape architecture. It fits nicely
into your home landscape design, whether your property is vast and varied or a small garden design.
As a focal point, a garden gazebo gives viewers a place to visually rest-the mind can go there and
take a breather, even on the busiest of days.

  Garden Gazebo: Shapes

The eight-sided gazebo was popularized by the Victorians who may have viewed the octagon as
having utopian qualities. This theme was certainly picked up by the amateur architect Orson Squire
Fowler, who wrote a book entitled "A Home for All" in the mid-1800s extolling the virtues of the
octagonal house. Be that as it may, the eight-sided gazebo is pleasing to the eye and to the
  imagination.

While the octagon is the classic shape for a gazebo, other geometries work, too. For sheer simplicity and elegance, you can't beat a square or rectangular
gazebo. An oval gazebo appears soft and inviting. When choosing a dimension, let the architecture of your home and the topography of the land be your guide.

  Garden Gazebo: Material Matters

The structural aspect of garden gazebos runs the gamut from sturdy to whimsical. Most often, they are made of:
Treated wood. Whether painted or stained and sealed, treated wood is the most popular choice for gazebos. It is also one of the most traditional. A white,
wooden gazebo looks pristine and wholesome, especially when combined with a garden arch covered in flowery vines. All these elements can turn a regular
garden into an English garden design.

Painted aluminum. Durable aluminum is another good choice. Its properties make it a likely choice for the Houston climate-resistant to rot and able to endure the
  Gulf Coast weather.

Hardiplank. This fiber cement plank product made by the James Hardie Company has become very popular in Texas since 1990 when the company started
marketing itself here from Australia. The material is made of a combination of stone, quartz, sand and fiber, materials that can withstand our varying temperatures
and humidity levels. It is so well-made that its planks come with a 50-year limited warranty.

Stone or brick. A substantial material like stone or brick makes a beautiful gazebo, especially in an Asian-themed or Japanese garden. In fact, what we now call
"gazebos" have been a mainstay of Asian gardens for millennia.

  Garden Gazebo: Other Considerations

A well-designed landscape plan will integrate a gazebo with other hardscapes, like pathways and landscape lighting. "Pathways can have a big impact on the
landscape and the experience one perceives as they transition through the garden," explains Jeff Halper, landscaping specialist with Exterior Worlds. The
experience changes with your material choice-gravel or flagstone, for example-and what is planted along its borders. Gazebos really come alive at night with the
right lighting, creating a vivid and shining image on the darkened landscape.

You can improve upon your deck design by adding a gazebo at one end or corner. Include built-in benches and tables or buy some fabulous outdoor furniture and
you've created an outdoor room to be enjoyed by all.

Commercial landscape design can be enhanced with gazebos, too. They create a memorable property when viewed from the street level and they also give your
tenants a quiet retreat during a hectic day.

This one will be perfect as you can assemble it without tool. Surely, it will not collapse on winter season as you can remove the cover and easily slip in back if you need it.

How can I distribute weight so my gazebo doesn’t sink into the soil?
I am designing a gazebo for a waterfront and need a cheap, green way to keep it from sinking into the soft soil while staying put. Any help would be awesome.

Set down something like 2′x2′ sidewalk block then a peir block on top of that. Could just go with the peir block but the sidewalk block will ensure the weight is distributed
better in most soil conditions. And the peir block makes it easy to build of posts set into it. May want to use a constuction adhesive between the sisewalk block and peir
and treated post into the peir block.

Screened Cheap Gazebo Needs Fix?
I bought one of those $100 gazebo’s at targets and it only has 4 support poles on the inside for the roof. My problem is that there is constant water pooling in the roof in
between these poles. Anybody know a way to fix this. I.E. Welding more poles? Straps? Anybody with the same issues???

Thanks!

Try to work more poles in side to top. It adds more support to the top and helps prevent the pooling water.

I don’t want to spend the outrageous prices that tent makers charge for ones made specifically for the period. I was thinking of getting a gazebo and decorting it up. Any ideas
on this?

You can get a smallish one at B&Q for £20. Homebase and most of the other big DIY stores stock them in the Garden department. It might be cheaper doing that than
     trying to hire one.
You can hire gazebo’s from here http://www.mmhire.com/area-nottingham.asp

How do I attach my gazebo to the ground (lawn)?
I bought one of those fairly cheap gazebos from WalMart with the metal frame & canvas top. We bought a similar one last year and it blew over into a mangled ball. We are
 trying to prevent a repeat.

hard to say without seeing it but you should have a good foundation to set it on to prevent it from sinking… a concrete slab… but if your just asking how to stop it from
blowing over…… you could try stakes in ground, one on the inside and one on the outside and connect them with a rope or chain …

A garden gazebo is the ultimate garden structure within your landscape architecture. It fits nicely into your home landscape design, whether your property is vast and varied or a small garden design. As a focal point, a garden gazebo gives viewers a place to visually rest-the mind can go there and take a breather, even on the busiest of days. Garden Gazebo: Shapes The eight-sided gazebo was popularized by the Victorians who may have viewed the octagon as having utopian qualities. This theme was certainly picked up by the amateur architect Orson Squire Fowler, who wrote a book entitled "A Home for All" in the mid-1800s extolling the virtues of the octagonal house. Be that as it may, the eight-sided gazebo is pleasing to the eye and to the imagination. While the octagon is the classic shape for a gazebo, other geometries work, too. For sheer simplicity and elegance, you can't beat a square or rectangular gazebo. An oval gazebo appears soft and inviting. When choosing a dimension, let the architecture of your home and the topography of the land be your guide. Garden Gazebo: Material Matters The structural aspect of garden gazebos runs the gamut from sturdy to whimsical. Most often, they are made of: Treated wood. Whether painted or stained and sealed, treated wood is the most popular choice for gazebos. It is also one of the most traditional. A white, wooden gazebo looks pristine and wholesome, especially when combined with a garden arch covered in flowery vines. All these elements can turn a regular garden into an English garden design. Painted aluminum. Durable aluminum is another good choice. Its properties make it a likely choice for the Houston climate-resistant to rot and able to endure the Gulf Coast weather. Hardiplank. This fiber cement plank product made by the James Hardie Company has become very popular in Texas since 1990 when the company started marketing itself here from Australia. The material is made of a combination of stone, quartz, sand and fiber, materials that can withstand our varying temperatures and humidity levels. It is so well-made that its planks come with a 50-year limited warranty. Stone or brick. A substantial material like stone or brick makes a beautiful gazebo, especially in an Asian-themed or Japanese garden. In fact, what we now call

Garden Gazebo: Other Considerations A well-designed landscape plan will integrate a gazebo with other hardscapes, like pathways and landscape lighting. "Pathways can have a big impact on the landscape and the experience one perceives as they transition through the garden," explains Jeff Halper, landscaping specialist with Exterior Worlds. The experience changes with your material choice-gravel or flagstone, for example-and what is planted along its borders. Gazebos really come alive at night with the right lighting, creating a vivid and shining image on the darkened landscape. You can improve upon your deck design by adding a gazebo at one end or corner. Include built-in benches and tables or buy some fabulous outdoor furniture and you've created an outdoor room to be enjoyed by all. Commercial landscape design can be enhanced with gazebos, too. They create a memorable property when viewed from the street level and they also give your tenants a quiet retreat during a hectic day. Surely, it will not collapse on winter season as you can remove the cover and easily slip in back if you need it. I am designing a gazebo for a waterfront and need a cheap, green way to keep it from sinking into the soft soil while staying put. Any help would be awesome. Anonymous Reply February 17, 2012 at 6:51 pm (Edit) Set down something like 2′x2′ sidewalk block then a peir block on top of that. Could just go with the peir block but the sidewalk block will ensure the weight is distributed better in most soil conditions. And the peir block makes it easy to build of posts set into it. May want to use a constuction adhesive between the sisewalk block and peir and treated post into the peir block.

I bought one of those $100 gazebo’s at targets and it only has 4 support poles on the inside for the roof. My problem is that there is constant water pooling in the roof in between these poles. Anybody know a way to fix this. I.E. Welding more poles? Straps? Anybody with the same issues??? Thanks! John J Reply February 20, 2012 at 3:40 pm (Edit) Try to work more poles in side to top. It adds more support to the top and helps prevent the pooling water. Anonymous Reply February 20, 2012 at 1:05 am (Edit) I want a 16th century style tent/Gazebo/Pavilion. Where can I find one cheap? I don’t want to spend the outrageous prices that tent makers charge for ones made specifically for the period. I was thinking of getting a gazebo and decorting it up. Any ideas on this? Michaela Y Reply February 22, 2012 at 10:00 am (Edit) Does any body know anywhere in Nottinghamshire (UK) where they have gazebo’s for hire? its nearly my birthday and im wanting a cheap gazebo where me and my friends can have a BBQ and chill please help . Lew Reply February 24, 2012 at 5:47 am (Edit) You can get a smallish one at B&Q for £20. Homebase and most of the other big DIY stores stock them in the Garden department. It might be cheaper doing that than trying to hire one. You can hire gazebo’s from here http://www.mmhire.com/area-nottingham.asp Curious Reply February 25, 2012 at 9:21 pm (Edit) How do I attach my gazebo to the ground (lawn)? I bought one of those fairly cheap gazebos from WalMart with the metal frame & canvas top. We bought a similar one last year and it blew over into a mangled ball. We are trying to prevent a repeat. Mr. Ree Reply February 27, 2012 at 9:15 pm (Edit) hard to say without seeing it but you should have a good foundation to set it on to prevent it from sinking… a concrete slab… but if your just asking how to stop it from blowing over…… you could try stakes in ground, one on the inside and one on the outside and connect them with a rope or chain … Leave a Reply Logged in as Mr.Green.
