Secondly, you should consider a digital baby monitor if you live in a busy neighborhood where a lot is
Identifying Baby Sleep Cues going on. Cordless phones, TV signals, wireless internet signals, radio broadcasts, microwaves and
Infant Car Seat even passing traffic can all cause excessive amounts of static to come through your monitor, which will

Powered by WP / designed by Online It's not hard to pay a lot for your digital baby monitor, so you'll need to spend a little time considering
Courses which features you really need and which ones you can live without. Most parents just want a basic,
baby monitoring system that provides clear reception, has mobile handsets and picks up the sounds of
                                          the baby.
Once you've had a basic system for a while, you may decide you'd like some special features, such as
multiple handsets, talk-back/intercom functionality or lights-only mode. If you're a paranoid parent, then
you may need to know the temperature and humidity levels of the baby's room or when your baby is
moving around. You may even decide that actually seeing what your baby is up to on video monitors can
be part of the joys of parenthood.

I have BT monitors which i have found brilliant!!
The main handset is in my childs room, on my hand set i can play a number of different
lullabys, it tell me the room temp, it beeps to tell me if the room is to hot or cold. The
sensitivity is excellent and can be set at different levels, you can hear your baby breathing
at high sensitivity. It also has an intercom where i can speak to my baby when i press a
botton. It also has a night light that i can turn on and off from your monitor. it also reaches
             up to 300 metres.
Sorry to go on abit but i would recommend these to anyone. I got my on Ebay for £32! I
think at the time they were 70-80 in the shops.

Sometimes the ones geared toward being baby monitors may not work as well
as some of the other products just made for being wireless security cameras.
Here is a decent wireless security camera from Cisco / Linksys which is a good brand

          Hi Nikita,
Can I first make it clear that I do not have this monitor but can share a bit of information on
baby monitors. Most if not all baby monitors combines the use of camera and audio
through use of sensors. What is important is safety and security of the baby and of course
          the parent’s peace of mind.
You want a monitor that gives a clear image and sound. You also want to be able to do
other things in the house, so you need freedom to walk about knowing that you can see
and hear your baby every moment.
You are worried that they just look cute but could be rubbish. Again my advise here would
be to go with a product that has a good reputation, in that way you can rest assured that
you will get full benefits of the product or if anything goes wrong you will be covered. Of
course you want a durable product. For more information visit lindamvideomonitor.co.uk
          I hope this will help,

which baby listening monitor do you use?
I have a BT digital monitor 150 which I am returning to mothercare this week as all I hear
is hissing and can’t hear my baby breathing (which it states I should be able to do!)
I just wondered what monitors people would recommend instead?
Thanks

I have the Tommee Tippee Monitor 6 with Sensor Mat. It was £54.99 and worth
          every penny
The main unit has a soft glow light and a switch underneath with two settings. Low and
high sensitivity (I use low for the moses basket and high for the cot)
There’s also a switch for the alarm to be on or off
          Portable monitor:
          (1) There are 2 channels on the portable monitor to reduce interference
          (2) Volume Control
          (3) A button to switch on or off for the “sound seek” feature to minimise background noise.
You cannot hear baby breathing but can hear a pulse like sound every few seconds to
reassure you that the sensor mat is detecting the baby’s breathing movements.
The movement sensor mat under the mattress sounds an alarm after 20 seconds if no
movement from the baby is detected.
It is the best thing I have ever purchased for my baby and gives complete peace of mind
          when baby is sleeping.

Graco iMonitor Pure Digital Baby Monitor?
Has anyone else had troubles with this monitor? Here is a link to it ………
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/allReviews.do?product_id=4433233
I have this one and it worked great for about 3 weeks and now its started acting up, looses signal
several times a day — until i go and turn the base off and then on again. My room and my babys
room are only about 10-12 feet apart so there should not be a problem with it conection with the
base. Any one else had a problem with these monitors? I also have some static with it, however its
much better than the last monitor I tried. Any suggestions as to what a good monitor is? I am going
to be moving into new house and our rooms will be further apart and i need a good monitor.
Thanks!

I have the same type but there is two, one for room #1 and then room # 2 but
it’s the same as yours and at first I had trouble too and I was losing signal. I
had to reset the signal to but what I ended up doing is turning them OFF and then leaving
them on the charger and let them charge for 24 hours then turned them back on and I
have not had a problem since. Hope this helps. I know going 24 hours without them
sucks but I love the monitors now. Good luck!

best baby monitor out there?
i’m finally going to try and get my son to sleep in his own room soon, even though im
really nervous about it. i don’t want to do that until i get a really good baby monitor though. i had two
in mind… either the safety 1st high-def digital monitor or the summer infant day and night handheld
color video monitor. they got pretty good reviews so those are the ones im looking at. does anyone
have any other recommendations or comments?

Honestly, you don’t need a video monitor. The best one out there is the Angel
Care Movement and Sounds monitor. It is about $100 and has a sensor pad
under the crib mattress that senses for movement. We have used that one since our son
was 4 weeks old! It let me sleep better because I knew that if something were to happen,
we would be alerted by the monitor (it senses for breathing). In addition, I always
preferred going into his room to check on him too (with the monitor on)…I liked watching
him in person rather than through a monitor. Trust me, I was freaked that something
would happen, and this monitor totally helped!
          Best of luck!
EDIT: I agree with the other poster here, it is useless to see the baby, and there is no
need to get to a baby before he/she starts to cry. There are many times when my son will
move around (I can hear it through the monitor) and will even make sounds/cry a little in
his sleep and then 30-60seconds later be back to sleep. If you always run in there at
every move, you will end up disturbing their sleep and actually waking them up when they
are actually not awake. There are times when you need to let them “fuss” (I didn’t say cry it
out) for a few min so that they can learn to go back to sleep on their own. My son is 10
months, and has been sleeping through the night since he was 8 weeks old. (With small
interruptions while he was teething…he has 8 teeth and the top 4 came all at the same
time). He will now sooth himself back to sleep if he wakes up…sometimes with his
aquarium, sometimes his soother…sometimes he even sits up and plays around and
then goes back to sleep…plus…when you are sleeping you can’t look at a video monitor
          anyway…

What are the best non-digital baby monitors on the market?
I have looked into digital monitors, but they’re a little out of my price range. Does anyone
know of any good classic style baby monitors? I am pregnant with my first child.

I love the Sony sound sensor baby call. It’s voice activated so you don’t hear the
static. You do have the choice of listening to everything though. I bought a
second one for my 3 yr olds room since I can’t hear her if she calls out. They are only
          $35.00 at Target, great buy.

I know you said under $50, but the iMonitor is the best on the market currently –
and it’s only $10 more. I have one and the reception is great anywhere in my 2-
          story house.
The iMonitor is by Graco – you can search for it here:
          http://www.target.com It has wonderful reviews.

question about Summer Infant Baby Touch Digital Color Video Monitor…?
http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Touch-Digital-
Monitor/dp/B004B762AK/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326155583&sr=1-1
Does anyone know if it’s possible to use the camera plugged in the whole time – I guess on
charging mode, (since it’s wireless) I don’t like recharging batteries every time for the camera unit.

I had a different model but I did have a summer infant video monitor…not digital
or colored though (7years ago). The battery after awhile wouldn’t take a full
charge anyways…think that is common for most batteries. So I’d say (even without having
that particular model) definitely yes. The maker would expect you to plug it in when you go
to bed at night…can’t take the chance of it dying while you sleep. You should be able to
use it while it’s plugged in =)

Can anyone recommend a good baby monitor and how much better are the digital ones?
Is it also worth getting one with a sensor mat included, or one of the video ones? Our
baby is due in May and we would like some opinions on which ones are considered the best )

          First child I see!!
I would just buy a regular fisher price one with 2, yes 2 handsets. You can leave one in
your room and carry the other!
          Good luck!

I have not used one but I have a few friends who did. They loved them and it
gave them so much peace of mind. I was always paranoid about our son and
SIDS so I plan on buying one when we have our next baby. I would also reccomend a
video monitor. Those are two things that would’ve have really eased my mind but were out
          of our budget.
One thing to keep in mind….my friends did mention that once baby started to roll and
move a bit in their sleep there were times they shifted off the pad and it alarmed.
You can read user reviews from people who have them on Amazon — here is the link.
          Almost every review is positive.

I haven’t read or looked into all the different types of monitors there are. What are the
features of say digital vs sound only? I definitely do not need the screen monitor. Just curious about
the ones that say vibrate, digital, sound only, etc.
And What Brand do you recommend?? Thanks in advance 10 points

Personally I went with a Fisher Price Private Connection monitor. I chose that
one because before and while I was pregnant I was a nanny and that is what
the family used. I liked it so much because when the little boy was in bed I could hear him
BREATHING and the monitor receiver was on the other side of his room. That was with
the fan on too. That is why I chose it for my daughter. Sometimes you do get a little static
but that isn’t anything to be expected honestly.

My wireless router is not working at home. I just bought a digital baby monitor. Could that
be the reason?
The wireless router is in the office and is wirelessly connected to our desktop computer, two
laptops, and the Tivo series 2. The digital baby monitor is in the nursery, about 25 feet (and two
walls) from the router. The router is a Linksys router, and sits on the floor next to my Comcast cable
modem. Because the wireless router is not working, we have no internet connection, nor can we
watch TV (through our TV) We’ve called Comcast multiple times but they tell us its our router. We’re
getting to the end of our rope!

Try turning off the baby monitor. Then turn off power to all of the appliances in
your network (PC, modem, and router). Then turn on power to all of the network
appliances and turn on your computer. If you are able to surf the net without a problem
then it is the monitor. If it still doesn’t work, then plug the modem directly in to your tower
(without the router) to see if you can surf. The baby monitor should have nothing to do with
your cable tv though as that the two are not related. You should find the problem by
          completing the above troubleshooting though.

nightly interference on the baby monitor?
Every night at the same time there is loud interference on our analog baby monitor. Other
than this we have no problems with it picking up neighbors etc. Even if we turn the volume all the
way down, we can still hear peoples garbled talking as if it were turned all the way up. There are
pauses, like it is an actual conversation, but we cannot make out anything specific. It happens on
both channels. We tried digital monitors but it was constantly losing signal with its base, causing
the alarm to go off, no matter what we did. And that was the expensive one. (We tried two different
ones)
Any ideas, suggestions?

          …ever seen the movie Paranormal Activity?…. that’s probably what’s
happening if its in the middle of the night. You need to get someone to come to
your house who has experience with spirits. I’m serious, I know someone who did it too
not like the movie.. but they had someone come to the house.

Does 2.4GHz baby monitor harm to the baby?
As 2.4GHz has a much higher transmittal frequency than the usual digital baby monitor.

I hope not, cuz 2.4 Ghz is ALL AROUND us, being used by more and more
devices, wirless services and you name it for communication. The idea is that
the higher frequency is less subject to interference. I doubt that the bambino will know.

I have it – I enjoy it as I have a small apartment and it works well.
It comes with a charger that it sits on, and the only real downside to it is that is says its
stays charged for 10 hours….but I have found that its really only 6 – Other then that I would
            recommend it.

This is the one that looks like a little green apple, so of course I want to buy one but are they any good? They keep coming up on chinese bulk buy websites, so a bit worried that they just look cute but are actually rubbish! Reply Benniemore: May 23, 2012 at 7:25 am Hi Nikita, Can I first make it clear that I do not have this monitor but can share a bit of information on baby monitors. Most if not all baby monitors combines the use of camera and audio through use of sensors. What is important is safety and security of the baby and of course the parent’s peace of mind. You want a monitor that gives a clear image and sound. You also want to be able to do other things in the house, so you need freedom to walk about knowing that you can see and hear your baby every moment. You are worried that they just look cute but could be rubbish. Again my advise here would be to go with a product that has a good reputation, in that way you can rest assured that you will get full benefits of the product or if anything goes wrong you will be covered. Of course you want a durable product. For more information visit lindamvideomonitor.co.uk I hope this will help, Benniemore Reply sdubbs: March 24, 2012 at 11:22 pm which baby listening monitor do you use? I have a BT digital monitor 150 which I am returning to mothercare this week as all I hear is hissing and can’t hear my baby breathing (which it states I should be able to do!) I just wondered what monitors people would recommend instead? Thanks Reply Andrienne: April 14, 2012 at 9:28 pm I have the Tommee Tippee Monitor 6 with Sensor Mat. It was £54.99 and worth every penny The main unit has a soft glow light and a switch underneath with two settings. Low and high sensitivity (I use low for the moses basket and high for the cot) There’s also a switch for the alarm to be on or off Portable monitor: (1) There are 2 channels on the portable monitor to reduce interference (2) Volume Control (3) A button to switch on or off for the “sound seek” feature to minimise background noise. You cannot hear baby breathing but can hear a pulse like sound every few seconds to reassure you that the sensor mat is detecting the baby’s breathing movements. The movement sensor mat under the mattress sounds an alarm after 20 seconds if no movement from the baby is detected. It is the best thing I have ever purchased for my baby and gives complete peace of mind when baby is sleeping. Reply Katy: March 25, 2012 at 5:55 pm Graco iMonitor Pure Digital Baby Monitor? Has anyone else had troubles with this monitor? Here is a link to it ……… http://www.walmart.com/catalog/allReviews.do?product_id=4433233 I have this one and it worked great for about 3 weeks and now its started acting up, looses signal several times a day — until i go and turn the base off and then on again. My room and my babys room are only about 10-12 feet apart so there should not be a problem with it conection with the base. Any one else had a problem with these monitors? I also have some static with it, however its much better than the last monitor I tried. Any suggestions as to what a good monitor is? I am going to be moving into new house and our rooms will be further apart and i need a good monitor. Thanks!
  • 4. Reply k: April 21, 2012 at 12:50 pm I have the same type but there is two, one for room #1 and then room # 2 but it’s the same as yours and at first I had trouble too and I was losing signal. I had to reset the signal to but what I ended up doing is turning them OFF and then leaving them on the charger and let them charge for 24 hours then turned them back on and I have not had a problem since. Hope this helps. I know going 24 hours without them sucks but I love the monitors now. Good luck! Reply ¢σияα∂'ѕ мσммα [ℓєαн]: March 25, 2012 at 6:33 pm best baby monitor out there? i’m finally going to try and get my son to sleep in his own room soon, even though im really nervous about it. i don’t want to do that until i get a really good baby monitor though. i had two in mind… either the safety 1st high-def digital monitor or the summer infant day and night handheld color video monitor. they got pretty good reviews so those are the ones im looking at. does anyone have any other recommendations or comments? Reply Mommylh: May 10, 2012 at 7:26 pm Honestly, you don’t need a video monitor. The best one out there is the Angel Care Movement and Sounds monitor. It is about $100 and has a sensor pad under the crib mattress that senses for movement. We have used that one since our son was 4 weeks old! It let me sleep better because I knew that if something were to happen, we would be alerted by the monitor (it senses for breathing). In addition, I always preferred going into his room to check on him too (with the monitor on)…I liked watching him in person rather than through a monitor. Trust me, I was freaked that something would happen, and this monitor totally helped! Best of luck! EDIT: I agree with the other poster here, it is useless to see the baby, and there is no need to get to a baby before he/she starts to cry. There are many times when my son will move around (I can hear it through the monitor) and will even make sounds/cry a little in his sleep and then 30-60seconds later be back to sleep. If you always run in there at every move, you will end up disturbing their sleep and actually waking them up when they are actually not awake. There are times when you need to let them “fuss” (I didn’t say cry it out) for a few min so that they can learn to go back to sleep on their own. My son is 10 months, and has been sleeping through the night since he was 8 weeks old. (With small interruptions while he was teething…he has 8 teeth and the top 4 came all at the same time). He will now sooth himself back to sleep if he wakes up…sometimes with his aquarium, sometimes his soother…sometimes he even sits up and plays around and then goes back to sleep…plus…when you are sleeping you can’t look at a video monitor anyway… Reply JSR: March 28, 2012 at 2:46 pm Can anyone recommend a digital video baby monitor that can be linked to the internet? Reply Anonymous: April 17, 2012 at 2:49 am I had a different model but I did have a summer infant video monitor…not digital or colored though (7years ago). The battery after awhile wouldn’t take a full charge anyways…think that is common for most batteries. So I’d say (even without having that particular model) definitely yes. The maker would expect you to plug it in when you go to bed at night…can’t take the chance of it dying while you sleep. You should be able to use it while it’s plugged in =) Reply pascal: April 18, 2012 at 5:37 pm Can anyone recommend a good baby monitor and how much better are the digital ones? They loved them and it gave them so much peace of mind. I was always paranoid about our son and SIDS so I plan on buying one when we have our next baby. I would also reccomend a video monitor. Those are two things that would’ve have really eased my mind but were out of our budget. One thing to keep in mind….my friends did mention that once baby started to roll and move a bit in their sleep there were times they shifted off the pad and it alarmed. I definitely do not need the screen monitor. Just curious about the ones that say vibrate, digital, sound only, etc. And What Brand do you recommend?? Thanks in advance 10 points Reply ღ My baby girl is almost 2! ღ: May 4, 2012 at 9:58 am Personally I went with a Fisher Price Private Connection monitor. I chose that one because before and while I was pregnant I was a nanny and that is what the family used. I liked it so much because when the little boy was in bed I could hear him BREATHING and the monitor receiver was on the other side of his room. That was with the fan on too. That is why I chose it for my daughter. Sometimes you do get a little static but that isn’t anything to be expected honestly. Reply Kate G:
  • 6. May 4, 2012 at 11:21 am My wireless router is not working at home. I just bought a digital baby monitor. Could that be the reason? The wireless router is in the office and is wirelessly connected to our desktop computer, two laptops, and the Tivo series 2. The digital baby monitor is in the nursery, about 25 feet (and two walls) from the router. The router is a Linksys router, and sits on the floor next to my Comcast cable modem. Because the wireless router is not working, we have no internet connection, nor can we watch TV (through our TV) We’ve called Comcast multiple times but they tell us its our router. We’re getting to the end of our rope! Reply HeAtHeN: May 12, 2012 at 5:07 pm Try turning off the baby monitor. Then turn off power to all of the appliances in your network (PC, modem, and router). Then turn on power to all of the network appliances and turn on your computer. If you are able to surf the net without a problem then it is the monitor. If it still doesn’t work, then plug the modem directly in to your tower (without the router) to see if you can surf. The baby monitor should have nothing to do with your cable tv though as that the two are not related. You should find the problem by completing the above troubleshooting though. Reply Q: May 8, 2012 at 1:29 pm nightly interference on the baby monitor? Every night at the same time there is loud interference on our analog baby monitor. Other than this we have no problems with it picking up neighbors etc. Even if we turn the volume all the way down, we can still hear peoples garbled talking as if it were turned all the way up. There are pauses, like it is an actual conversation, but we cannot make out anything specific. It happens on both channels. We tried digital monitors but it was constantly losing signal with its base, causing the alarm to go off, no matter what we did. And that was the expensive one. (We tried two different ones) Any ideas, suggestions? Reply Meghan: May 27, 2012 at 1:34 am …ever seen the movie Paranormal Activity?…. that’s probably what’s happening if its in the middle of the night.
