What is a low cost, easy way to dress up plastic patio chairs?
I have had these white plastic chairs for awhile, they are looking worn out. I think they sell paint for plastic, but are there any other ways to make them look not “so plastic” .

Have you ever seen like in those wedding magazines when they wrap tha fabric around the chair? If you buy a fabric that matches your houses’ color theme, you can wrap
it around tha back of the chair, wedding style like. and then you just tie it in the back and you can even add something in the bow, like flowers, or seashells if you have a
beach theme. check out this link for pictures. also try googling “wedding chair covers”: http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50627224/Chair_Covers.jpg

    Good Luck!

Get the new spray on plastic paint from Krylon or Rustoleum at Wal Mart. It is made espcially for painting plastic.
Bright red would certainly be pretty with red and white striped cushions.

How many cans of Krylon do you think I’d need to paint four plastic patio chairs?
I have four white plastic patio chairs that are in good shape except that they are stained dirty. I understand Krylon makes a line of spray paint that can be used on plastic. How
many cans of it do you think I’d need?

they make spray paint for plastic now, but i’m not sure what colors are available. if possible i would go with a deep green. that compliments burgundy, beige, brick, etc. if
the paint does not come in that color, beige or off white would be better than stark white.

if you can go with the dark green, nice beige seat cushions would be nice. if you have to do the opposite, beige paint, buy green seat cushions as an accent color.

I have green resin (plastic) patio chairs that are losing their color. I plan to spray paint them: good idea?
The chairs are four years old. They are sturdy and have no other problems, so I don’t want to throw them out if paint will do the trick. However, I’m concerned about paint
peeling off. I do plan to spray a primer on first.

Prime chairs first using Glidden gripper primer from Home Depot and then use any rustoleum spray can finish as your top coat.

Where in the world can I find cheap plastic patio chairs?
I remember once upon a time these things littered every department store! Now, for the life of me, I can’t find any! I’ve shopped Target, Wal-Mart, Job Lot, everywhere! Does
anyone know where I can find the cheap, plastic patio chairs? I don’t need them to fold or anything, I simply need them to stack so I can throw them in the shed and take
them out when we have company. We’re planning a party in a week and I cannot find any!

I think you are talking about the elastic straps on the back of the cushion. Most material stores sell elastic in spools/strips for really really cheap. I know around me there
is “Rag World” and even my local Walmart has elastic in the material section. Hope this is what you meant.

After trying all the products advertised to clean patio furniture I have found the ultimate answer is shower cleaner such as Tilex for mold & mildew. Not the daily shower
spray, but the mold, mildew remover ones. I spray it on and wait an hour of so and hose it off. Works like a charm.

I have had these white plastic chairs for awhile, they are looking worn out. I think they sell paint for plastic, but are there any other ways to make them look not “so plastic” . starfish Reply February 26, 2012 at 12:30 am (Edit) Have you ever seen like in those wedding magazines when they wrap tha fabric around the chair? If you buy a fabric that matches your houses’ color theme, you can wrap it around tha back of the chair, wedding style like. and then you just tie it in the back and you can even add something in the bow, like flowers, or seashells if you have a beach theme. check out this link for pictures. also try googling “wedding chair covers”: http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50627224/Chair_Covers.jpg Good Luck! Deana Reply February 25, 2012 at 7:08 am (Edit) How do I paint white plastic patio chairs? I would like to paint them taupe or light brown and put some pretty cushions in them….want to make them look less cheap. Help!!! Any other ideas? We are selling our home and I want the patio to look more attractive llittle mama Reply March 5, 2012 at 7:36 pm (Edit) Get the new spray on plastic paint from Krylon or Rustoleum at Wal Mart. It is made espcially for painting plastic. Bright red would certainly be pretty with red and white striped cushions. Lise Reply February 25, 2012 at 5:28 pm (Edit) Years ago you could find cheap white plastic patio chairs everywhere. Not now – any ideas? I did find finally some at Rite Aid today but they were floral and not very attractive. Just want some inexpensive stacking chairs for parties.

Skittles are M & M wannabees Reply February 25, 2012 at 10:28 pm (Edit) How many cans of Krylon do you think I’d need to paint four plastic patio chairs? I have four white plastic patio chairs that are in good shape except that they are stained dirty. I understand Krylon makes a line of spray paint that can be used on plastic. How many cans of it do you think I’d need? Henry H Reply March 9, 2012 at 4:14 pm (Edit) Very good paint If you are going back white I think 3 will give you a good cover be sure to clean the chairs first and let dry for 24 hours Good Luck Deana Reply February 28, 2012 at 12:37 pm (Edit) best way to paint/redo white plastic patio chairs? just want to add color and interest to old white plastic patio chairs…paint/pretty cushions, etc. has anyone done this and what were the results? home colors are neutral beiges and greens with some burgundy/pink accents. house is red brick. patio is concrete. thanks…. also want to put an outdoor rug underneath to define the space. what colors would work? irvingfan Reply March 2, 2012 at 6:43 am (Edit) they make spray paint for plastic now, but i’m not sure what colors are available. if possible i would go with a deep green. that compliments burgundy, beige, brick, etc. if the paint does not come in that color, beige or off white would be better than stark white. if you can go with the dark green, nice beige seat cushions would be nice. if you have to do the opposite, beige paint, buy green seat cushions as an accent color. statuewomanromans Reply March 6, 2012 at 10:51 am (Edit) What’s a good product to clean white plastic patio chairs with–easy??? spagetti7 Reply March 6, 2012 at 6:03 pm (Edit) Awsome!! there is a cleaning solution that a lot of dollar stores sell for a dollar called Awsome. It works really well, it smells kind of strong but it cleans aaaannnnyyyttthhiinnggg!! Linda G Reply March 6, 2012 at 8:27 pm (Edit) I have green resin (plastic) patio chairs that are losing their color. I plan to spray paint them: good idea? The chairs are four years old. They are sturdy and have no other problems, so I don’t want to throw them out if paint will do the trick. However, I’m concerned about paint peeling off. I do plan to spray a primer on first. Anonymous Reply March 8, 2012 at 10:47 am (Edit) Prime chairs first using Glidden gripper primer from Home Depot and then use any rustoleum spray can finish as your top coat. Anonymous Reply March 8, 2012 at 2:20 am (Edit) Where in the world can I find cheap plastic patio chairs? I remember once upon a time these things littered every department store! Now, for the life of me, I can’t find any! I’ve shopped Target, Wal-Mart, Job Lot, everywhere! Does anyone know where I can find the cheap, plastic patio chairs? I don’t need them to fold or anything, I simply need them to stack so I can throw them in the shed and take them out when we have company. We’re planning a party in a week and I cannot find any! Roy R Reply March 10, 2012 at 6:03 am (Edit) All of the Walmart’s around where I live have them. They are $13 to $15 each. Ginger Snap Reply March 10, 2012 at 5:10 pm (Edit)

Where can I find the the plastic strapping to replace? I have searched the internet forever and can not find anything. Chairs are still good but the strapping is not. Mamabear Reply March 11, 2012 at 6:04 pm (Edit) I think you are talking about the elastic straps on the back of the cushion. Most material stores sell elastic in spools/strips for really really cheap. I know around me there is “Rag World” and even my local Walmart has elastic in the material section. Hope this is what you meant. faxpronto Reply March 10, 2012 at 5:30 pm (Edit) needing assistance with name of chemicals or products used to clean inexpensive plastic patio chairs.? thank you for providing names of chemicals or products used to clean regular inexpensive plastic patio chairs. Leeway Reply March 11, 2012 at 11:38 pm (Edit) After trying all the products advertised to clean patio furniture I have found the ultimate answer is shower cleaner such as Tilex for mold & mildew. Not the daily shower spray, but the mold, mildew remover ones. I spray it on and wait an hour of so and hose it off. Works like a charm. Leave a Reply Logged in as Mr.Green. Log out?
