Beaches, sailing, diving, natural sights, and water sports scored high marks in the
survey.
• Bermuda is relatively isolated, for this reason the island is currently mainly a crew
destination for off time during transatlantic stops for provisioning
• Duty free fuel is a draw to the island
• Sailing races might provide incentive to visit the island
• Refit or repair facilities positively influences length of stay and is considered the
fourth-most attractive destination feature

26. Consensus
Our superyacht tourism issues are solvable;
When solved Bermuda becomes more competitive versus other jurisdictions;
Enabling her to attract more superyachts for a longer period of time;
Which will increase on-island visitor spending to the benefit of small businesses;
And open Bermuda up to a new segment of travelers who charter superyachts.
28. Return of the
Superyachts
• Site visit scheduled this month for two
2019 superyacht events
• J-Class considering a return to
Bermuda; New Superyacht Regatta
also being contemplated
• Very positive feedback from
superyacht owners following AC35
