• PDHPE is a very important subject in primary schools and is one of
the six key learning areas in the NSW primary curriculum.
• Although many tend to think of PDHPE as a useless part of their
child’s education as it won’t benefit their educational achievements
in their later years of school.
• It is actually the backbone of your child’s education as it helps them
identify who they are as individuals in the world.
3. Why??
• It maintains and develops their physical health and growth into
adults as well as their mental, spiritual and social health.
• PDHPE will ultimately affect their performance in all their other
subjects at school as well as their life outside of school.
• Many studies and researches have been conducted that prove this

4. How??
• PDHPE helps identify your children’s level of development and skills

personal health and care, relationships and improves their
communication and interaction skills.
• It also improves their physical development at fitness, sports and
activities and improves their movement, decision making and
problem solving skills. This allows them to lead healthy and enjoyable
lives.
