The IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP)

Halcyon London International School is a candidate school** for the
International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) and
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This school is
pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share
a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging,
international education that Halcyon London International School believes
is important for our students.
**Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three
academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), the Middle
Years Programme (IBMYP), the Diploma Programme (IBDP). Candidate
status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further
information about the IB and its programmes, see ibo.org

Assessment of student learning
• The IBO specifies assessment criteria and standards
in each subject and grade level
• Teachers design tasks according to the criteria and
mark students work against the criteria
• At the end of the grading period students are given
a summative grade on a scale of 1 to 7
• Samples of student work are sent to the IB at
regular intervals to ensure that standards are
consistent across the world.
