Rural Development Engineer March 2015 - Present
Rural Life Surveys & Social Interaction Programmes.
Travelled through various rural villages of India, as a team of 2 or 3 members for understanding
the problems of everyday rural life.
Organized and lead problem solving discussions on major social issues like sanitation and
hygiene, energy utilization, water management.
Designed solutions to improve their everyday life activities.
Conducted hands-on, computer aided skill development programs in vocational skill training on
masonry, plumbing, basic installation.
Mechanical Design Engineer August 2013 – February 2015
Design and Development of mechanical solutions for skill development and rehabilitation
Bar Bending Simulator
Design and development of a simulator that measures various forces and enables a student to
learn Bar Bending in an effective manner. Researched the various factors involved in bending the
bar, like application of body weight vs. arm strength, the force required to bend various grades
of steel bars and measurements and angles for a perfect shape. Designed a solution which
consists of hydraulic system controlled by PLC unit which was accompanied by a front end
visualizing software to complete the training simulator.
Balance Trainer
Designed and developed a cost effective balance training device for balance impaired patients
with a manually configurable tilt mechanism provided in two axes, to simulate real time uneven
surfaces. This solution enables patients who are recovering from partial paralysis due to stroke,
to regain their natural body balance.

3. ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Master’s Thesis Projects
1. Construction and Implementation of downdraft gasifier in conjunction with pyrolysing unit
Goal was to integrate a wood pyrolyser and a charcoal downdraft gasifier in order to maximize the
utilization of the wood biomass fuel. The maximum utilization of wood is achieved by conversion
through oxidative pyrolysis to charcoal and gas, the gas produced is used for process heat and steam
generation. A portion of the steam generated is passed along with air for steam gasification of
charcoal, generating producer gas. This producer gas is used for mechanical energy generation.
2. Water auditing for Karnataka pollution control board In six major industries in Baikampadi Industrial
Area.
Studied wastewater treatment facilities and EIA reports of different industries with this project.
Obtained firsthand experience in conducting an environmental auditing for Karnataka Pollution
Control Board. Water auditing for Baikampadi Industrial Area that included six industries
(MRPL,KIOCL, BASF, MCF, Sequent Scientific Ltd., and Blue Water Foods Ltd) was carried out.
